Recovery time depends on if the procedure was performed laproscopically or open. Lap appy, without complications, in 2 weeks you can be pretty active, but probably 4-6 till you can be full contact. Open appy, you will need to ease into activity slower, more like 6-8 weeks plus.

My appendix burst while I was waiting for surgery. The procedure was performed laproscopically but I had some complications following surgery that required me to stay at the hospital for 10 days. I spent 8 of those days without eating as I had a tube shoved thru my nose, down my esophagus to pump my stomach. I was weak and in pain for several weeks following discharge. It was 6 weeks before I could even go to the gym.

If his appendix really did "explode" then there is no way he can practice let alone play football within 2 weeks of the procedure.

I don't know much about the appendix, but doesn't it 'explode' or 'burst' quite a while after significant pain?

I understand where you are coming from, but I just want a win over the gator any way we can get it. Especially being the last scheduled game in the series. We will have all of the bragging right.
