Thanks Pete. So if I am following, the prevailing theory in this thread is that we're his fallback plan but the UM staff isn't having it, and they deliberately told you to put the info out there to see how he would react. Is that about right?

he prob was trying to see if he could EE at um but was afraid UF would dump him. Ivins and others have same story about Banda meeting as pete.

Never said that they told Pete to put the info out to see how he'd react.

I'm sure Pete was just doing his job as a reporter in putting out the story and was just as surprised to see Davis's reaction.

In other words, the coaches were in the know but not Pete, Ivins, etc..

Just my guess.

But he might bail on Florida and attend Miami if we're able to get him in as an EE.

Nice to have a staff that knows the Recruiting game a little instead of recruiting 2 stars form Delaware. Richt has been recruiting in the SEC and at FSU before that, so he can probably recognize what could be bull****..
