Let's just FLA implodes and we run the table. We're one of 3 BCS conference teams undefeated, but we're left out of the game because Florida imploding ****ed up our SOS with the computers. How would you feel then?

Strength of schedule is no longer a factor.
That's why teams schedule so many cupcakes.

It's all about the polls.
The AP poll, the coaches poll.
Then the BCS is an average of those 2 with some others with the high and low ranking discarded.

What are you talking about? The AP isn't used. And SOS is a big factor with the computer rankings.

True, but again, I don't think we need to worry about SOS rankings quite yet. Having UF implode would be better for the Canes and our recruiting IMO.

I would be fine with it, because odds are we are not jumping anyone with our SOS this year anyways. Besides we would have to play bama or oregon in that game and I doubt we'd have a chance in that one.

We will have to catch some breaks this year if we were to make a title game. There is 1 team (stanford) on Oregon's schedule that could beat them unless there is some crazy upset. Bama has probably 2 (LSU & whoever is in the SEC title game). There is still LSU too, but they have a tough schedule. Don't forget Ohio St. and Louisville with their cupcake schedule. We still have to beat Clemson and FSU (not impossible, but outside of one sweet game against florida, we still are not certain our defense is sweet or just hyped up for one game). Odds are even with the florida win, we are not jumping any of those teams just mentioned if they are undefeated except maybe Louisville. I'll gladly take Florida losing 5-6 games.

That's not what he negged you for. U said we wouldn't have a chance against those two teams in a game in January, three games into the season. Good teams get better as the season goes on and IMO If our defense continues to play the way they did against U*** (physical, creating turnovers) and our offense gets rolling similarly to the last 4 games of last season and continues to build cohesion with Coley......By that time I'd like my chances against anybody in the country!!!!

You don't have to agree and optimism is great. I believe Al will have us their soon. I hope we are there by the end of the season, but sometimes people look at best case scenario rather than just looking at what is in front of their face. So I'll restate my stance to make you guys feel better about it. We are not on par with those team right now. If we are there by seasons end, I will be excited, but if we stepped on the same field tomorrow, I don't think we would win. I'm not saying we can't win, but they are far more consistent than we are.
