I will say this about Mario

I think he does that. I think he cares more about all of this and his roster more than any other human being on the planet

One thing I never question with him is his effort and work ethic and I’m sure he loses sleep at night about his CB room. Just gotta deliver

I think his biggest issue on this front so far is trying to solve the groups in silos. I am guessing due to budget planning? Use this 10 wins to get some money injected and go full blast at every position outside of OL, RB, TE maybe.

100 agree!! We have gone with throw bodies at this!! Can someone do some evaluation and not pick the first person to hit the portal

This isn't a linear process. Just because he's the first to visit doesn't mean he's the top guy they're taking. Or that he'd even commit...

I understand that Mario is obsessive about building from the trenches out but with skill players at WR and CB littered across Florida it’s still mind blowing

Realizing a program like us can’t just fix everything all at once necessarily but

The 2023 class is basically devoid of playmakers on offense

DBs we’ve brought in Damari, Stafford, Freeney, OJ, and Mack

Thank god OJ was a hit because between the portal and recruiting I have no clue what we are doing there

They don't sign anything (unless NIL deal)..they just commit and enroll from what I understand...

My comment is a general and has nothing to with this young man!! I want to see them do a lot of homework!! We will see a ton of guys hit the portal this week!! I want them to be smart about this!! Get guys who can come in and start from day one!!

How about we create something?

On signing day recruits give a 3 year pledge. We pledge to them to avoid the portal. Then we play the players we recruit.

Maybe dumb idea but it would make us different.

We don’t rotate because coaches don’t have to. They play same players for one reason or another financial other and then just go back to the portal. Kids sitting are like WTF am I working for.

Also I'm thinking more money may be spent on plug and play safety and.or nickle and maybe just take a multi-year eventual starter at CB as they may think Frederique and Brown have the two outside spots locked up. Maybe I'm wishful thinking.

We are bringing in CBs to assess whether we want to actually add them to the team, as we should be. The kid showed promise this year, so why not check him out more closely. That he's the first doesn't mean he's the top choice, that we plan on taking him, or that we don't have a bunch of others that will be evaluated as well

If we are already taking portal visits in the secondary...does that mean Guidry staying? Also, this kid is NOT the quality we're looking for. Saw many UCF practices in person...I wouldn't take but one or two young men on this defense and thats Heyward and Henderson.
