Consistent bats worry me, fielding has to improve. Our pitching should be dominant again this year.

So how good is this team?

Honestly? Our peak is one of the last regional hosts. The strength of this team is pitching, yet compared to other teams around the country, our pitching is merely above average. Missing the power arms and our defense is poor, despite what people are going to say after two games. A team who hits like us should play a style of ball that limits base running errors, works counts, and advances runners. Also need to play strong defense and not give the other team extra outs. We don't do any of that. I'd love to be proven wrong but knowing whose on this team and hearing about practices etc, I don't have high hopes.

Great post, pimp. Sums it up nicely. IF, and only if our fielding improves will we be able to host a regional. Never in my life have I watched a team play that bad of defense 2 years ago...until last year happened. The last few years this team has lacked the general fundamentals that are needed to execute to win games.

I'm excited about Thompson, hope he can produce because our best hitter for the last couple years is gone.

It was bizarre how that guy could turn a routine two hopper into a runner on second.

We had the bases loaded with one out in the bottom of the 1st but did nothing with it.

Carey popped up weak to short left and San Juan tapped it back to the pitcher.

0-0 after 1 inning.
