At the time of the conversation, both Tyson & I were under the impression that the 01/26 was the last possible visit date before NSD. He did tell me that it would be on the last weekend before he had to make it official. I mentioned January 26th and he agreed but the look on his face wasn't too sure about the date. Before we got into exact dates, he did confirm that he'd visit Gables. This was during the same convo that he wants to stay home but had to do his due diligence...

i think that people don't realize these two things

1) elite players like Tyson and surtain do NOT get blocked from taking visits. The schools want them, they may try to secure them obviously first but elite players don't get ultimatums, not even from satan.

2)kids don't take "free trips" to local hometown schools. If someone KNEW they were leaving they wouldn't show up to the local school

Agreed. There is no way that a local prospect who has personal ties to his position coach on the staff uses this as a free trip. That makes zero sense since Campbell lives down there and has been to campus many times. What would make more sense is that this could be a courtesy on Tysons behalf and a show of respect given his history with Rumph but even that doesn't pass the sniff test given that Silvera will be there and the fact that Chatfield seems to be a silent at this point. Add to that the most recent developments with Patrick Surtain II and these kids may be setting up a group commitment.

I believe that Campbell was very much excited after his Georgia visit and was leaning heavily towards them but the development with Surtain and the realization that the other 3 were likely headed to UM that got Campbell's attention and in a way broke the spell UGA had on him. Those 4 are very tight and they talk about these things all the time. I think the other 3 brought Tyson Campbell back in as the idea of all four of them playing together became impossible to ignore.

You are 2/3 correct in your post. But let us not ignore the fact that it wasn't coach Richt that got Sony to UGA but rather the head UGA bag man. Sony and his family were bought several times by UGA and his parents were given jobs.

There was a video interview he did on signing day where he talks about why he signed with UGA and how his parents are moving with him to Athens. Funny thing is both of his Haitian parents at the time didn't speak any english. But yet they found jobs in backwoods Athens, GA. So both Rumph and Coach Richt know the head UGA Bagman intimately I wouldn't be surprised if Coach Richt isn't the godfather to the guys son. This is the first sincere time Richt has had to face down his good Olde Boys for a recruit UGA desperately wants after their Db's were abused by Bama's freshmen in the 4th quarter of the Nat'l game.
