Tyson Campbell recruitment??

Without Campbell our class is amazing.....but I agree, he should be part of it and it would suck not to land him.

Sometime when you have a loaded class it works against you. Not all kids with elite physical talents are mentally tough enough and competitive enough to want to be "one" of several elite players on the same team who has to work extremely hard all the times to stay on top. Some will want to go to a less crowded filed. You can't have them all.

Who's trying to devalue the kid? I never said he was not elite. There are many components to the decisions kid make and it is plausible that crowded filed could be one of them. I don't know what's going on in the kid's head but neither any of you.

A crowded field doesn't matter to him if OSU and Miami are his favorites (which 247 indicates). OSU arguably has an even more crowded DB depth chart than we do. I don't know about Clemson and Alabama, but they typically bring in plenty of studs everywhere. His list of schools screams of a guy that has little fear of competition for playing time.

Miami is not that crowded in the DB positions. He'll have the opportunity to start right away.

Because sfla athletes tend to be attention divas all about getting that "bag". There's no loyalty until we start winning. Tyson family is pretty well off so I think the Kid is doing his due diligence in looking at all the schools before making a decision.

His family is good from a money standpoint per Rattler. He hasn't acted like a Diva in any way during his recruitment. He's not afraid of competition based on the schools he is interested in. His family is full of Canes fans also per Rattler. This would be just a straight up L if we don't land him. No excuses, just a loss.

Well, we're not as crowded as OSU is. But based on who we have committed now, we should have a very strong depth chart at DB. However, OSU will have an even more loaded defensive backfield than we do (based on recruiting rankings). If he's worried about competition, OSU and Miami wouldn't be atop his list as appears to be the case.

I'm not down with the depth chart stuff. He doesn't care. Miami DB class is great, but he is as good as any in the class. Why would he care? Clemson got a better (more depleted) DB situation, and they are the new chick. Fingers crossed

Since we just talking, I don't have a positive vibe about Tyson for several reasons. One is that he spurned us to go to FIU where the osu coaches were according to some on here. Second he said in an interview at The Opening that he calls the osu coaches. I'm not saying he is any less interested in us than osu, but given our proximity, being on the come up and intimate relationships with the DB coach and some players, that would be an automatic for some programs. In fact you can say outside of Blades, Tyson has the more close relationship to the program.

I don't think it's obvious at all what he's doing or where he'll end up. Way too early to write off a kid right now.

Regarding Rumph, he's an excellent coach. I'm concerned about his recruiting, but we don't have a big enough sample size yet to conclude he sucks as a recruiter.

Coach Rumph will pull him in.. THEN of course we will hear, Rumph didn't get him here!! At the end of the day, it shouldn't matter who gets certain recruits here, just get them to Miami and signed.. Regardless who recruits them, Rumph is here at Miami to make CB the best they can be and thru it all, he will get the recruiting process good..

Brent Venables is gonna KILL it when he gets a chance to be a HC... his recruiting classes will be absolutely LOADED... its like he can come in whenever he wants and catch kids attention, he can just literally pop up and suddenly they are considered serious contenders to land a kid

D/n recall on Njoku, but he was personally recruiting DVD. He even went so far as to take a personal dig at the kid as he passed by him after the game in Canesville.
