Keep an eye out for Tyrone "Debo" Truesdell 2017 DT out of Laney HS in Augusta, Ga . Truesdell has very good quickness for a 6'3" 305lbs linemen combined with exceptional strength he benchs 405lbs and squats over 500lbs as a sophomore.

He is getting interest from schools like Georgia, Alabama, Auburn and Florida State. Miami needs to jump on this kid early an stay on him, the state of Georgia is loaded with dline talent for the next two years.

Those numbers are ridiculous for a 16 year old. If true, he is as strong as Earl Moore... but 5 years younger and 2 inches taller.

MICZPCQMXZEUXFM-f1387c62e4c697efaff33ffbc63c4264.jpg

Earl Moore: 6'1", 304 lbs, 5.46 40 (5.40 best), 5.20 20, 24 reps of 225, 505 squat, 276 power clean, 400 bench press, 22 vertical

Then again Earl Moore supposedly squated 575 lbs in high school. Somehow he lost an inch, put on 20 lbs and lost 70 lbs on his squat after spending 2 years with Swasey. His bench did go up but losing 10 inches on his vertical is just unacceptable. #FireSwassey

You should research the validity of his HS #'s before you go popping off your mouth about the U. I lol'd at your comment about his vertical though....we need more DT's that can dunk.....(sarcasm)

Thank god someone is here to stick up for earl moore. There has been too much popping off of mouths lately, they should be planted firmly back on golden, the staff, and this 6-7 bunch of winners ****s where they belong.

Here is Tyrone Truesdell at the 2015 Opening (regional Camp) in Charlotte, NC he comes in at roughly the 1:40 min mark and then again at the 4:50 Min mark. Keep in mind this kid has no offers yet so Miami could get first crack at this young man!

Uh... I was been sarcastic... read my other post: https://www.canesinsight.com/threads/87592-Icoming-LB-shocks-Miami-Coaches/page4?p=2222539&viewfull=1#post2222539

I was questioning the validity of:
"Truesdell has very good quickness for a 6'3" 305lbs linemen combined with exceptional strength he benchs 405lbs and squats over 500lbs as a sophomore."

These are Allen Bailey numbers when he graduated.... from college. 6'3", 290, 565 squat, 405 Bench. I'm sure a 16 year old Sophomore in high school can put up these type of numbers. Although 405 bench and 565 squat is not be too hard to achieve for a 304 lbs guy, most kids don't really start lifting that early.

Here is a kid as a junior in high school benching 500lbs. FYI I was hoping Miami would have gone after him but he signed with LSU, but he is transferring for his final year. But back to original intention there are kids coming out of high school that are naturally strong.

Clearly he should've went to PSU as it would appear he can defend himself from unwanted reach arounds... Wtf was going on there?

An here is one of miami's top DT targets for 2016 DT Ben Frazier benching 315lbs for reps as a 8th grader. Just let that process for a moment. So Truesdell numbers are very feasible an after watching him literally bench press blockers during the Charlotte Nike camp is proof of his strength and ability to translate that o football strength which is even more important.

Danny we all know u get hot and heavy over HS weight lifting, but that is not 315.

That is roughly 275. Hammer machines don't use a 45 pound bar.

Hey Paranos…

Once again, you've come up with a very interesting DL prospect. This kid is a man among boys on his highlights. What's the level of competition? Thanks for all your hard work to discover talent for our Canes. Keep it up!

I like what this kid. Has to offer but Nick coe and devonta Townsend are both grown men. Ready to maul people.

I agree about both of them. 2016 OT/DT Devonta Townsend is definitely an under radar linemen that will get more looks as a senior. I didn't mention him because I think the 2016 Georgia DT's UM is currently targeting are better, but in the same breath it is always good to hedge your bet with a quality plan B+ kid like Townsend.

At some point we gotta get lucky with a couple quality DT's. So is Owenu out of the picture to Michigan or OSU? I believe if we had an attacking and exciting type defense then we would attract more top DT's. No matter how you look at it, there is always something Golden F up!

From The Opening: Why commitments in football are different than basketball
By Jason Jordan, USA Today High School Sports May 9, 2015

CHARLOTTE, N.C. – Just over a week ago when Wheeler (Marietta, Ga.) wing Jaylen Brown, the No. 4 overall player in the ESPN 100, committed to California the college coaches that missed out knew it was over.........................................

North Stanly (New London, N.C.) running back Antonio Williams committed to Wisconsin last December and said he’s got no plans to entertain any other schools.

“I’m done,” Williams said. “In football the coaches still come at you and a lot of players pretty much still keep things open, but not me. I made it known when coaches kept calling me after I committed and they’ve backed off for the most part.”

As a sophomore, Laney (Augusta, Ga.) defensive tackle Tyrone Truesdell’s recruitment is just starting to pick up and said he plans to take the same approach as Williams.

“I won’t commit until I know for sure,” Truesdell said. “I just don’t see the point of committing if I’m still gonna look at other schools. I know a lot of football players do it, but I don’t think that’ll be me. I don’t know why it’s different in basketball. I think maybe we need to be more like them with that.”

Hopefully Miami will jump on board before this young man shuts down his recruitment, not many recruits today are this self aware an mature about the recruiting process.

Go Canes

This young is still uncommitted and gaining a lot of interests his back in December he named UGA & Oregon his top two. So this is an area where Mark Richt could deliver a big ole Georgia country boy to Miami.

Under-the-radar prospect receiving “major interest” from several SEC schools
Alabama offensive line commit Netori Johnson said “that man is strong.” That was after he was beat on back-to-back reps in 1-on-1 drills at the Rising Seniors all-star practice, which is an event that features some of the state of Georgia’s top juniors.

The Rising Seniors defensive line coach kept on screaming “that’s a grown *** man” and “that man is a bear in the woods.”

That “grown *** man” was four-star defensive tackle Tyrone Truesdell, who happens to have zero scholarship offers. That will change after this week’s performance against some of the top prospects in Georgia.

Truesdell, from Laney High School (Augusta, Ga.), told SEC Country that his dream schools right now are Oregon and Georgia.

On Georgia: “It’s right here in my home state. I know everything about their school, pretty much. I know which classes I could take, the teachers, the dorms and I know some of the students already there.”

On Oregon: “Their defensive coach is from the same area that I’m from. I know if I went there, they have what I want to major in. Also, the dude who runs Nike is pretty much a sponsor for the school. If the worst case scenario is football doesn’t work out, I can use my business degree and maybe work for Nike. I have always been an entrepreneur and been good with math.”

The 6-foot-2, 299-pounder said those two schools have been showing “major interest” along with Auburn and Alabama, but as of now, no one has pulled the trigger on offering him. Truesdell said those four schools have invited him to “pretty much” every home game this past season.

The under-the-radar prospect plans on making a trip to the west coast to visit Oregon in the spring. That’s the only visit he knows of right now.

For now, Truesdell is going to keep on doing what he’s been doing — grinding.

“I’ve been doing six-a-day workouts just to make sure that I stay in shape this offseason and get ready to showcase myself more this spring,” Truesdell said.

It’s only a matter of time now before he gets that first SEC offer.

He is ranked as the nation’s No. 18 defensive tackle and the No. 33 overall prospect in the state of Georgia for the class of 2017.

When was the last time Miami had a DT blow up a Guard like this and drive him back into the QB or RB regularly disrupting the play with power and grown *** man strength.
