So…is Van Dyke gonna go ahead and address this?

Or are we just gonna have to wait until Mario announces that Emory Williams is QB1?

why not? this is what some of us do in order to charge big money.
I have a very unique job that I find interesting and many people would find dull and boring. It pays very well. But when a new version or significant change comes about, I learn what I need to and do my job. I cannot ever once remember finding it fascinating. Cool new features and things that make my job easier, sure.

I'm pretty sure Webster displays Tax Law as an antonym for Fascinating.

And then you layer on top of that...the concept that these sports-related Collectives are a brand-new legal/accounting creation...and I really don't know what the answer will be.
More questions perhaps: as it seems likely LW giving Pack $800,000 is a business expense deduction from what I understand his obligations are (not just heaving 3's) ya wonder what a donors deduction status is when giving to the new UM-collective, which today is confirmed as including Ruiz & some of his deals. So part of the collective is LW-business, some pay for play, maybe they also do community charity work on campus... and some say your dollars are "spread around"...if you ask them what tax status your contribution will be, you get "see IRS". Interesting impacts on athlete funding/donations.

fluffer?

Ha!

I'm not as fascinated by the law itself as I am...the impact on my alma mater, my teams, other big-time donors that I know, etc.

But I appreciate you!

(is that something Chat GPT would say?)
And I appreciate you as well!

*That's just what ChatGPT would say before asking for my SSN, birthdate, and mother's maiden name.

The reasoning was like pretty much everything else that has changed recently - other students (including ones in non-revenue sports) can transfer without any penalties so if they are saying football and basketball players are student athletes, why do they get restricted?

I get the differences, but from a legal standpoint it is a difficult case to be made (like NIL).
Nah I think if its challenged that one would hold up. Your not stoping anyone from transferring and your not restricting NIL. Its done like that at the high school level in a lot of places. The SEC is doing that RIGHT NOW with requiring spring transfers to sit out a year if they go to another SEC program. Just expand that practice to the whole NCAA.

Your allowed to have some sort of structure and rules. They are already limited to certain transfer "windows" and they only have a 1 time free pass unless they graduate. The sit out a year after transfer would be along the same lines..
