This is year 2 of Mario. The roster already looks much better but 1/4 to 1/3 are still toxic a** dudes and bums. If TVD leaves he leaves. We weren’t winning much with him anyways.

My only want for this year is a better on field product, particularly on the offensive end, and overall competitive football. Guidry seems like a slam dunk so gotta keep him.

If TVD leaves get a portal game manager QB who can run or give Emory a shot. Kaaya was a true freshman when he started and he was solid enough.

Jacurri is NOT it though…he’s awful

Anyways. Go Canes!

Edit: Start Emory and get him ready for 2024. Take his licks this year. Get him ready for when the roster in 2024 is better and the losers and bums are gone.

Who are all these portal QBs that we can just easily go grab, if it was so easy to find one why does UF still have Mertz as QB1

As far as portal options, TVD isn't in the portal either and that doesn't appear to matter. So if the time comes and Miami can convince a good player that he would thrive all of sudden an option would emerge.

Exactly what I'm telling these fools no QBs in the portal that are upgrades, like we can go find one easily. We'll be stuck with Jacurri and Emory they have potential but way too early in their careers for this

My father was the same way. He was a huge Pirates fan, and ultimately stopped caring.

TVD would get about 3 months to learn a new system and get to know his WRs and that's not even as the #1. He'd have to start Fall camp as the #3 even if promised the #1 job. Otherwise, you destroy your team. Saban isn't going to anoint anyone without proving it on the practice field.

So, realistically, TVD would have at best 3 weeks rolling with the 1's if he could overtake the other QBs in 1 week of Fall camp which is unlikely. Saban would likely split practice snaps and name his starter the week after the Fall semester has started. Then expect 1 or 2 QBs to hit the portal and possibly quit the team during the Fall.

Regarding UM, it obviously hurts the program. They could have brought in a Transfer QB for the Spring if TVD transferred in January. TVD transferring after the Spring semester would put UM in the same position as Bama with a late transfer QB.

This story may have legs in that TVD spoke to someone on Bama's side, but when you look at it, it's not good for anyone.

Best comment I seen all day, how it's not good business decision to try to learn a new offense in your money year like that just arriving for fall semester if he were to transfer. He could have been left in December plus our biggest hope for recruiting 2024 & 2025 QBs & WRs were to have TVD and our receivers light it up this fall to give reason for future recruits to come.here so if he leaves we can't do that.

Going off of the two points D$ mentioned, I won't lose a minute of sleep if we bring in a good replacement for TVD if he bounces. He's talented but replaceable IMO. Never was a fan of his personality, honestly, especially at the position he plays.

Hope he stays but I'm not as triggered as many are right now.

The timing is dumb for TVD as others have note, but I still can see it from his perspective. Mario’s offensive hires from last season crashed TVD’s draft stock and despite how poor we were on offense last season there’s been little done in terms of HS recruiting or portal additions to upgrade our skill positions for this coming season. If I was TVD I’d be frustrated/****ed that WR hasn’t been upgraded. At Bama he doesn’t need to worry about any of the talent around him. I hope it doesn’t happen because I think a number of people are vastly underrating him just because he didn’t perform in the dumpster fire that was Gattis’ offense.

Replaceable with who? How about some specific let’s hear some names. Who is likely available, would be interested in transferring here after spring, and is as good/better than TVD? I’ll wait…

It seems he falsely (or some claim fraudulently) gave stock or stock options as asset compensation, indicating it was valued or worth $30-40 a share (today it's under a dollar.) If Pack's $800,000 or monies promised to TVD or others were of similar ilk, well, even if there are other "booster-benefactors" to fall back on, this could be a real mess, and is generally recent news. (he missed another "extended-deadline" to restate his financials or such this weekend, I read somewhere, and also had some sort of debt-relief agreement drawn up with some bank or party)

Honestly with how NIL is, I think we should seriously consider taking option 2 regardless what TVD wants. If your starting QB is looking in the portal trying to get more money, at some point you have to be willing to move on and call the bluff. We have to treat NIL money like it has limits. Spending uncontrollably or because players are trying to hold you hostage is how you ***** yourself.

I would 100% try to get a starting QB in the portal on the DL right now, and tell TVD he's free to walk after we got a guy lined up. Can't have your starting QB do that publicly. Plain and simple.

The fortunate thing is - in the scenario where TVD leaves, this offense is incredibly simple to learn.

Michael Pratt from Tulane or Grayson McCall from Coastal Carolina would be people we should try to get.

UTenns offense isn't tricking anyone that does scouting though. Maybe everyday fans. Cause Like every single scout that talks about Hooker or their WRs, that is the first thing they mention. That the offense is the worst to try to get any semblance of a projection for what they'll have to do in the NFL...

Didn’t say in my post that a portal qb would be better, but go off king

All I’m saying is that it legitimately doesn’t matter. Mario is building with or without TVD and it doesn’t change much for this season. Who knows if TVD would’ve even played all year given his recent injury history.

Like yea it sucks but otherwise after Year 1 the roster looks much better. Guidry, like I mentioned, seems like a great hire, and the offense is in wait and see mode but the OL is looking much better. So we will see, but for the first time in nearly a decade there’s some hope. It’s all we have

I always expected 2024 to be the year that the roster finally starts to look like a Miami roster. Obviously nothing without a QB but hey, mediocre QBs can look good behind a strong OL, which I think we are building.
