Someone needed to account for Ott and that 4th and 1. Not sure if it was Popo job or not. But that was just ridiculous. It was a great play call and not sure we ever could have prevented the first down, but to get a TD off that was pure amateur hour.

I stand by my statement. Rewatch that game. Watch the angles he takes. Watch the out of position. Watch the miss tackles. I was literally hoping he would get a targeting penalty against him so we don't give up gashes.

Almost every giant negative play on D was his responsibility. Film doesn't lie.
 
I'll take it a step further. I have been here since day 1, and grassy for years before. My post history can be searched. I have never called out a player before especially like this. Powell is that bad, VT shown it, but this game was probably one of the worst I have ever seen a D player play. I hate calling someone out, but now that they are getting paid, it is fair game.

The only, and I do mean only, thing keeping us from looking like arguably the best team in the country are the 3-5 plays a game where we just completely bust coverages/run lanes. We dog walked that team last night in every facet. Outgained them by 200 yards. 30-12 in first downs. Held them under 3ypc. Held them to 2-10 on 3rd down.

But, they had 370 yards in the game and 230 of them came on 4 plays. Their 45 other plays went for 140 yards. Make teams prove they can go the length of the field methodically. I really thought we’d see less playmaking but less busts with Kam and James gone. But nope.

Looked to me like Powell was blitzing (by design?) off the edge. Harris got sucked in at the LOS, and was really in no-man's land - couldn't stop the 1st down if they ran, and too close to the LOS to play pass. My money would be on him and/or Aguirre missing the assgt.

We have to go into bend don't break mode unfortunately. Team can't be trusted to play aggressive defense

He surpassed Brax a while ago. He's a legit All American and I think is a safe Day 2 player. He's gonna play slot in the league for a long time. He wants to be every QBs best friend.

He'd be awesome in Buffalo. He can do all that Shakir does and better and he'd be living at Josh Allen's house.
