In Port St Lucie, there is very good talent here, most of it moved from down south.

Watching Albert Wilson (Port St. Lucie) and Khalil Mack (Fort Pierce Westwood) during the Dolphins game, it made me think how the Treasure Coast is often overlooked as a recruiting ground.

I think most of the top talent in that area comes from the Fort Pierce area, although Vero has had some solid teams.

The times I've spent in the TC area seemed like there were more Gators and Noles as compared to us.

But somebody who lives in that region would know a lot better.

Vero has been the best team on the Treasure Coast for the past 40 years. They've sent more guys to UM than any other school in the area.

I'm from Palm Beach County, now live in Broward. Starting in the mid-00s, the Muck has not been the same at producing talent. What % of that is due to transfers and what % is due to lack of development, I'll have to defer to people who follow the Glades Central and Pahokee programs more closely nowadays.

The talent has moved east to other schools somewhat. Families moving do to lack of jobs. Still talent is there though

Yup. Big Sugar leaving town and the parents of kids who would normally go to Pahokee, Glades central, Glades Day, have kids going to Dwyer, Palm Beach Gardens, Palm Beach Central among others.

Sebastian and Vero Beach are in the same county (Indian River). Randy was the head coach at Sebastian and got fired by the principal after winning a district championship due to personal reasons. Randy is now the D line coach at Vero.

Eddie Edwards and Don Latimer from Ft. Pierce Central HS over 40 years ago.

Both AAs at Miami on the DL.

And pretty good in the pros. Edwards was an All-Pro a couple times with the Bengals, maybe more.

Yeah, we've done ok in that area at times.
