Watching Albert Wilson (Port St. Lucie) and Khalil Mack (Fort Pierce Westwood) during the Dolphins game, it made me think how the Treasure Coast is often overlooked as a recruiting ground.

For those who live out of state, the Treasure Coast sits on top of the Tri-County area on the east coast of Florida.

Hopefully Jahfari Harvey is the latest sleeper to emerge from there.

Harvey will come in and have a GR15 type impact. If he didn't get hurt he'd be getting some occasional action

If Luther Robinson wouldn’t have been touched by Golden he would have had a chance to make noise. We get a player from there about ever 8 years and they perform.

I'm not sure where the Treasure Coast is, but over the years we've gotten some great talent from Ft. Pierce and Vero Beach. Not so much in recent years. Isn't Patrick Bethel from the Vero area?

I think 20-30 years ago Vero was a state power. I don't follow the championships so I don't know what they're doing currently.

I dont think anyone gives a F about recruiting so long as our play caller has alzheimer’s

Any recruit worth a **** saw that game and will have second thoughts. Richt has been exposed as a corch.

Don't forget about one of the best DB's to play at the U, Ryan McNeil. Butch found him at Ft. Pierce Westwood. UM was his only D1 offer and he turned out to be a NFL player for a dozen years including a Pro Bowl.

And Demarucs Harris from Vero is legit. He had video game numbers Fri. night against Treasure Coast. Multiple long TD catches where he flat out ran away from guys.

Not too far from the Treasure Coast you have the Muck area. Okeechobee, Pahokee, Clewiston, Moore Haven.

My hometown Okeechobee, produced two good talents such as Lonnie Pryor and Jimmy Jones.

Went to high school at Ft Pierce Westwood with Khalil Mack and Luther Robinson. Then ended up at Treasure Coast HS with Jeff Luc, Lamarcus Brutus, Keelin Smith(fsu) and a few other d1 guys.

During the housing boom port st lucie was one of the three fastest growing cities in the county so alot of talent came up from down south. The overall talent is pretty average but the are some players to be found.
