Tre' McKitty play (Wow)

We need a receiving style TE in this class. I'm betting Njoku leaves after this year. That leaves us with Herndon, Irvin, Haskins who is a project and Polendy. We need another TE for depth at least.

What makes you say he is a project?

He has never played TE before. The good thing is TE seems to be a position an athlete can adapt to easily. Check all the basketball players who made the switch and have been successful.

Jimbo likely headed off to LSU soon, any kid signing with FSU between now & January will still be in play, just have to stay on'em get them on campus for a visit.

Looks like he just got crystal balled to FSU a couple times. Seems like these kids will pick anywhere but the U.

He would be an absolute FOOL to go to FSU. Name the last great TE from FSU?

They had a TE win the Mackey a few years ago and have one of the best TE coaches in the biz with Brewster.

Our depth chart is better though.

That point is invalid considering that TE regressed the year he won the Mackey, and Clive had an all around better year and should've won it...That same TE is a NFL bust and I think is practice squad right now...don't even remember his name. Brewster is known for recruiting not development...the TE they have now was supposed to be "the next Mackey award winner" and he isn't even better than Njoku still.

Good points. It was Nick O'Leary at fsu who went in the 6th or 7th round while Clive went in the 3rd. All credibility lost when previous poster said Brewster was "one of the best TE coaches in the nation". LMAO. Brewster known for dropping bags, never ever coaching anything. Remember Minnesota.

If ur talking bout Nicholas' grandson who's no where to be found in the NFL, then ur right...he did steal the Mackey Award from Clive. We have a tradition of pumping out productive NFL TEs, and collegiately. Probably produce a better pedigree of TE than any other University.

Pounds and pounds of this.

How do you see the potential jam at tightend playing itself out?

Herndon and Njoku are likely gone after next season.

I think its gonna be tough to convince Njoku to come back (outside of his brother coming in). For Herndon tho, i think he stays. He kind of gets overshadowed by Njokue, but is a better inline blocker. Could probably up his stock coming back next year as TE1.

This is something I'm fairly concerned about next year. No doubt Njoku is gone after this season. While Njoku isn't the best blocker, he's an above average athlete at tight end even thought he has the dropsies at times. Who is on the roster or who are we bringing in who could replicate this next year? I get that Herndon is a great blocker and that probably works better in coach Richt's offense anyway but coach Richt using Njoku in the middle of the field at times over the past few weeks seems to have opened up the rest of the offense. Hoping coach Richt doesn't go back into a shell next year if he doesn't have a superior athlete like Njoku at tight end.
