I'll repeat what I've said on here before.... I don't really care about Wilson if he's stuck on CB, but he seems like a vocal leader type and his camaraderie with the SFE guys makes me nervous.

So a top South Florida player who is the vocal leader type and has a great bond with other top prospects in SOFL and you "don't really care" if he comes to UM? LOLWUT

If he really is what you just described him as, then he is the type of kid we NEED in this program.

so cook visiting UF, USF...is he planning on stopping by coral gables any time soon?

if he is visiting USF tomorrow I doubt he visits UF

If he really is what you just described him as, then he is the type of kid we NEED in this program.

Enough people who have seen him live feel like he doesn't have CB makeup and he's adamant about being a CB. He doesn't look like a CB to me, either, in the clips where he has to turn and run.... although I don't place a lot of value in that observation from myself. I certainly see several other kids who I prefer to sign at CB, and it's not a position where we need to take 3-4 kids.

Other programs can afford to offer him.... if they switch him to safety immediately they don't alienate their primary recruiting base, **** off a legion of HS diva coaches just looking for reasons to *****, and they get the upside of potentially getting hooks into other kids (like the ones in that car). We cannot get in the business of package deals or letting individual recruits/coaches dictate recruiting terms... these things are pandora's box for the diva brigade in South Florida. Schools who aren't down here can afford to do these things to "steal" individual kids, it's a different game for our staff who have to deal with the long term ramifications of such things.

In all honesty there's very little about Quincy that makes me want him on this team. He can be ****y about wanting to play CB if he wants to but that just shows his attitude about developing as a player. You don't want those guys in your locker room. Probably going to be a safety or OLB where ever he goes anyway.

Those kids are all cool....he's not the "leader" of the group or anything..but getting him in the fold can only HELP with guys like Lammons and the like...kids want to be paired up with the best..Wilson goes to camps, travels, wit all these guys and does his thing...kids see him coming down and it changes their percentages a bit. **** kid also grew up playing with one of our main wr targets out of STA Corey Holmes...he was his qb growing up.....

I offer him as an boundary corner even if i know hes going to outgrow the position. A few times trying to run with Phil Dorsett would be all we need for him to see the big picture.

Good point, and you'd hope that were true, but kids dumb enough not to listen to coaches with 20 years in the business who have put DBs in the league might still not get the picture and get all diva after getting their *** whooped.

thing is...your not going to **** off his coaches.....their freaking canes for the most part.

Kevin Beard.....His own dad is a former cane db and he knows the game.....I dont even see the down side in offering...only thing i can say is their waiting for spring evals...if dude makes it out of spring with no offer then its time to worry..

they havent offer Michael Johnson either who is another safety prospect....so im guessing their waiting to see them this spring or in camp...with this current recruiting era waiting that long can be a death wish...i hope were atleast communicating with Wilson and Johnson at this point

I don't understand why we wouldn't give him an offer and give him the opportunity to play CB.

If he can play the position great, if not move him to safety.

The kid will be a player for a major program.

I really don't get it either. I like Golden and his plan. I just don't understand the seeming rigidity with this type of thing. Tell him "cool, you'll play corner if you're good enough," and mean it. If he isn't good enough, the kid seems like the type of competitor who'll do whatever it takes to get on the field. He could be an OLB for all we know.

Well said and I totally agree. This whole thing gets more interesting if he's willing to play S, at least then we probably get in the game.

I thought Moten would be an early commit to Miami, but he hasn't committed yet so maybe he wants to go through the process to check all his options. Which I have no problem with.
