Crazy how this is truly a year-round phenomenon. It's not just happening in the spring.

I've mentioned Garner as a prospect before, but this isn't as much about him as it is the transfer scene itself.

Coco Creek had one the best DB trios with Garner, Miguel Edwards & Marquis Williams.

Davontae McCrae transferring to MNW

Also, lets just make this the official HS transfer thread...

Pete mentioned a few weeks ago James Cook might be transferring to MNW as well...

Robert Hicks is transferring from BTW to Central...

5-star 2018 DE Xavier Thomas is transferring to IMG...

Wait until the "Transfer Law" in Florida really takes effect next Summer (2017)--- I wonder how they are going to keep up with all the paperwork, academic transfers, etc. as under the law you can transfer during the season and not have to sit out. I guess if you do not like a schools coach or record during the season get the heck out. Will be interesting to see what happens.

The NCAA clearing house has had problems in the past with students/grades that transfer to multiple schools. Now it could be mass wholesale transfers.

"The new law would let students go to a school outside the county they live if they provide their own transportation and the school has openings."
"A transfer student would be immediately eligible to play sports, even if the season has started, provided the athlete didn't participate in that sport at another school that year. That's a change from a bill passed a few years ago that allowed for immediate eligibility only if the season had not started."

Am I the only one that was hoping this thread would be about more of the JAGs transferring off of our team (i.e., Jones, Loftus, etc.)?

There is a thread on that over on Eye in Sky...

Pete just announced on the podcast that Miami commit 2018 OL Delone Scaife, is transferring from Killian to Southridge.

****. I'm far removed from the HS scene, I guess. I didn't know this was a thing. Does this benefit or hurt us?

Benefit...

He was going to be a Cane lock regardless even if he stayed at Killian...
We were on him first before really any other school & no one has recruited him more than us.

But with (Power Move) Coach Cooney coming on staff, Scaife at Ridge is just another great look for us.

If you're asking in general, then yes overall Transfer season for 2018/19 prospects will turn out as a benefit for us in the long run...

Given this, is anyone really surprised kids don't care about repping the U? They don't have any allegiance to their HS, why would they suddenly care about a college just because it's in Miami? I'd be surprised if there isn't money or favors being exchanged in the HS transfer process. And if there isn't yet, there will be shortly.
