Mertz has been a massive failure for them and they put their eggs in thag basket thinking they could carry him with the OL and backs. Didn’t happen

Or your standards are to high for what you consider a solid QB. A QB who leads a team to a 11-2 season while completing 66% of his passes with 27 Total TDs 7INTs and 3000+ yards is a solid QB to me. Dude went absolutely nuts in the fiesta bowl, 500 yards 5TDs. Is elite a high end QB? Definitely not or even close but he can make all the throws and has a high QB IQ with good enough mechanics.
