Mostly agree, but it depends on expectations. We signed 5 defensive lineman. Three start and two are backups. Moultrie plays DT and adds quality depth to the Dline. Lichtenstein I would agree is a disappointment.

Why is Lichtenstein a disappointment. Guys a 6th year senior and he hasn’t done a whole lot in those years. I’d say he’s right about where he has been

I said it depends on expectations. I expected a little more out of a USC transfer than a Charlotte transfer.

My point overall is that Mario did well with his DL portal additions and RB addition. He fell short on LB, WR and CB tho.

The DL portal were a huge success. Our LBs are average, bar Wesley who is young,.and we have Kam and a bunch of average not fast DBs. Our DL is 3 sacks off leading the nation with 37. The nation leader has 40. If we had better DBs probably some more coverage sacks likely. U are fair to question in game coaching but knowing what the players look like to bring in Cristobal knows. Every coach miss on evals.

Scheme matters especially to players with one or two years of eligibility trying to get to the League. Mario cannot simply say “trust me” once he fires Gattis. This may take 4 to 5 weeks given Mario’s lengthy interview process coupled with high school recruiting crunch time.

This will cause us to fall behind and gives others an advantage and head start on portal recruiting.

Yeah he need to review that process. Gattis must have been impressive talking about his speed in space. Btw, dont hire another coach with some fancy slogan. They are always fake. Al Golden Butch Jones. Always a used car salesman. U have no idea what it is but it sounds good. Till u realize it suck ***

There are going to be record numbers of guys in the portal this cycle. Just get the OC hire right.

The pending OC hire will tell us all we need to know about the future of the Program under Mario’s leadership. It’s an incredibly important decision.

I’d sacrifice a few names early for the right coordinator and scheme. My point was that those screaming for Gattis to be fired have a point when it comes to Portal recruiting. But, it doesn’t matter if you miss on the hire (again).

My thing is shouldnt we wait a little before to see if any bigger proven p5 guys hop. I also don’t want it to be like last year we’re we don’t take these cats because we are waiting for bigger options to hop in and they never do. Don’t wanna be left with nothing again

Kids put out feelers before they enter , at least kids people want. There’s a method to how this is done.
