Reneau (6-9, 232) spent his first three seasons in college basketball at Indiana playing in the Big Ten. Reneau is ranked as the No. 16 overall prospect and the No. 4 forward in the transfer portal.

Top-40 recruit
Malik Reneau was a highly regarded four-star prospect in the class of 2022 from Montverde Academy. As a senior, he averaged 11.9 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.
Reneau received scholarship offers from Indiana, Florida State, Arkansas, Florida, LSU, Marquette, Memphis, and many other schools, including Miami, coming out of high school.
Reneau committed to Florida under Mike White but reopened his recruitment when White became Georgia's coach. He has a strong relationship with the Georgia staff, but they didn't make his final list.
Big Ten Honorable Mention
Malik Reneau received All-Big Ten honorable mention despite missing five conference games due to a knee injury sustained on Jan. 2 against Rutgers, which may have affected his recognition.
The 6-foot-8 forward averaged 13.3 points and 5.5 rebounds per game. He shot 55.2% from the field and scored in double figures 19 times on a team that finished with 19 wins.
During his three seasons in Bloomington, Reneau averaged 13.3 points, 5.5 rebounds, and 2.0 assists per game. He played in a total of 94 games, making 55 starts throughout his tenure.
Great connections to Miami
Malik played for Nightrydas Elite in the AAU circuit during high school. Andrew Moran, who was affiliated with the team, is expected to join the Canes staff soon.
It is worth noting whether that has a factor in his recruitment. He is also from and attended Montverde Academy in Florida.

Right low block: He is skilled at scoring from the lower right block and often uses his left hand to finish.
Driving to the basket: The Hoosiers were placing him in situations to drive to the basket, particularly from the elbow and perimeter.
Pick-and-roll: He is also being used effectively in pick-and-roll situations, resulting in important scores.
