Tracy vs FSU

Man, you watch both those videos and there's good and bad. One of the half dozen passes completed against Tracy all year was that dump off to O'Leary with Tracy in zone.
Tracy is a blanket corner, but it was also pretty easy to see that he was not too comfortable taking on the run.
Hopefully with added strength and size he will hold his own this year against the run and still be a shutdown corner.

God ****, it was sad watching Renfrow, Porter, Robonson get trucked on every play.
Jimmy Gaines got engulfed by blockers and made tackles while falling backwards.

You could see the mental errors made by the lb's in being too late, or over committing and being out of position on all those dump offs to Freeman.

Quan could have stopped two touchdowns and forced punts on 2 3rd and longs, if he had just played with a little more discipline and sacked Winston, instead of running full speed past him. He has to learn to break down and make the sack.
Freshman mistakes.
He and McCord were in such a frenzy to get around the edge that they allowed themselves to get pushed too deep and created huge escape lanes.

Pretty obvious we were playing down a few men on defense. Gaines, those two safeties, Cornelius the invisible linebacker, and our roller blade wearing senior defensive tackles were doing more harm then good.

Going to be a completely different defense this year.
The returnees are much more experienced, bigger and stronger.
The replacements for our serious weak links can only be better.
Heurteleu, Fig, Kirby, Carter, Dallas Crawford and Hopefully a strong as bull Wyche are on a whole different level than Renfrow, Cornelius, Gaines, Highsmith, Rodgers and Porter/Robinson.

I'll make my prediction right now.

Miami beats FSU. We don't whip them, but we beat them.

From your lips to God's ears. We had them scared at half time. If we had a QB who could move us that first drive of the second half, the ghosts of Christmas past might have grabbed criminoles by the throat. We went 3 and out and they adjusted their offense and our staff had no answers. We need a Dorsey and a TE on that first drive. Our players can beat them; the question is can our coaches?

Money post!!! May God grant us this wish!!!

Staff asked Porter to put on too much weight for one

One of the reasons TV didnt wanna come here
Porter was also playing a different position. As a 3-4 nose he has to two gap, which is difficult at his height because of length. Without the length it becomes difficult to disengage the center. It's also harder to see into the backfield. As a 4-3 1technique he knows the two guys that can block him. In a 3-4 there are 3 guys that could be blocking him. The added weight took away some of his athleticism, but the change in scheme took away the benefits of his athleticism and made it about his body type. What we saw was square peg round hole.

Upon further review of the film, from the waist down, Winston looks like a fat chic wearing tights.

The crazy part of the rematch next year vs fsu there whole freakin offensive line is coming back smh

Our DL should be better and deeper next season.Heurtelu,Wyche,Pierre,Chick,Kamalu,Mccord,AQM and Thomas.Decent 2 deep there with size and speed on the outside.

I hate how we had no body cover the backs coming out of the backfield. I think with improved LB talent we should do better and i still have no idea why shayon green ever dropped back in coverage.

Their OL will be deeper and much better.

They will be favored by at least 10pts I fear.

Just 10? Lulz. They are at least 3 touchdowns better.

I didn't see anything particularly noteworthy for TH during that video. There were a couple of plays where he had good coverage, but it mostly involved running plays. And the ones to his side, he often overpursued.

Nevertheless, I think he is a very good cornerback, and I hope we have him for two more seasons. I'm just surprised the video did not have more plays where he was covering somebody, particularly with posters raving about him locking down his side.

I also question the latest mantra that we will not get pushed around at DT because of Heurtelu and Wyche. Did Heurtelu do anthing significant in spring? Isn't he slotted behind Earl Moore, who has done nothing of significance thus far.

One of the reasons TV didnt wanna come here

Valentine is like 340, so if he did come here he would be asked to lose weight.

He excuse about scheme/weight was just that excuse. He would have had to do additional school work to get into Miami. He took the easy, more profitable way to LSU.

The mark of any good DB.

Sometimes it would be so long since you heard his name you would forget he was on the team, until he would pop someone in run support.

Love his game and his body has been catching up with his attitude. Should be beastly.

If he can improve his speed he's a first round talent. Even at 4.6 he goes no later than the 2nd round IMO because he's got ball skills and great instincts. Can't wait to see his as a leader on this defense this year.
