Tracy Howard

Tracy Howard is going to get KeionPayneized if he doesnt keep his trap shut and focus on doing what he's supposed to be doing. Golden's got no room for dis kind of behaviors.

the coaches have done nothing but rave about him i highly doubt he'll be in the doghouse anytime soon
 
No, not "cool" with it... he has to do a better job of taking coaching. He's a true freshman in his first ever game, though, and he probably was just frustrated, so I'm sure it will all be fine.

As long as he listens to the coaching and continues to improve, he'll be a great one.

I was saying this throughout the game...I have no idea why they played Tracy Howard off the BC wide outs. He's a press corner. Let him get up in white boys face and let him thug'em a little bit. Lets see if he don't gator arm a few more balls if TH pops him in the chin at the line a few times.
 
Howard IS a great press corner, and now he gets to work on other aspects of his game and add to his tool box. He'll become a better football player for it.

The game turned into a track meet that didn't have to be one...the same thing happened in the Maryland game last year. Played the corners off and Maryland just dumped and let the Miami defenders chase. This year, BC just looked at the soft zone and let their wide outs run through it with slants and ins...'Canes came away with a victory, but we'd all be a lot more ****ed if we lost that game.

I don't agree with you often but you're right... He can't let last week's performance get to him... He needs to accept the coaches criticism and just listen...
 
I think some of you are reaching. What makes you think that he was offensive towards the coaches? He was probably venting in the heat of the moment. Many great players do that.

Good point.

Kind of like how TOS was reporting that SH was skipping meetings with the coaches, etc and none of that turned out to be true. Some folks just like to stir the pot.

Yeah it is, and the reason I asked is if he did mouth off to the staff, why is it being given the "oh well, its football" soft sell? If it was somebody else like SH, or a Thompkins, or Porter, or some other player not well liked, I'm 100 percent positive the reaction would be different. ****, if this was something we heard about Stacy Coley, he'd be getting killed right now.

Point is, every player has to accept coaching. Its the only way they'll get better, and that goes for everybody from walk-on work hard guy, to blue chip recruit.

This is one of the key points. All anyone saw was Tracy speaking or yelling (remember that the stadium was extremely noisy) to a coach. We do not know what was said. Maybe he was asking a question. Maybe he was answering a question asked to him by a coach. Maybe he was saying something like, "I screwed up coach; I'll try to get it right next time." The contention that he was "mouthing off" involves a bunch of assumptions and seems inconsistent with most of the things we have heard about Tracy so far.

Just ask yourself if anyone has ever seen you talking to a third person and misconstrued the nature of the conversation. I think that, for most of us, the answer would be yes. People tend to interpret what they see and hear according to their own mind sets. Was Tracy mouthing off, or is the witness to the event and some of those hearing of the event just prone to assume that he was?
