First day of practice is on and POPPIN' and it seems that Tracy Howard is already running with the first team. It might not be much or maybe that poll was running has been answered early. Either way...Can't wait for the news after practice.

@vicbermudez: Tracy Howard running with the 1st team #canescamp . He will start CB for the #Cane come 9/01. By far the best corner on the team. #Canesfam

Also some more black jerseys were issued for Thursday practice: Telemaque, Buchanan, Rodgers, Green, Perryman, Chickillo, Johnson, Howard, Gunter, Smith, Pierre.

Gaines is still limited from injury but says he is going to have to come back and take the Black Jersey from EJ because EJ is balling right now!

I would've started at CB last season. That's how bad it was.

Not impressed with Tracy at this point. Not a big acheivement starting for this squad

I luv me some Ringz but Im gonna have to disagree withcha bro. If Tracy was there and couldn't quickly overtake whom we have at corner then I would be concerned. Its definitely a positive to see a young kid come right into practice and command a spot.

Its all about competition. Hope guys like Finnie and Gunther see this as a challenge to step it up.
 
I gotta say that's great news! In fact, I was fully hoping and expecting at least one of the true freshmen to do such a thing. Glad it was the most coveted DB!

The kids Al is going after and has signed remind me of the old cane players that want put the time in to be the best and take pride in being part of the UM family. Nice to see Tracy busting *** an EARNING what he wants! Lets hope they all his fellow classmates follow his example.

I wouldn't go as far as saying that I'm not impressed with what we're hearing about Howard, but I agree with the premise of what you're saying. There are exceptions to the rule obviously, but normally hearing that a true freshman is the best at a position is a bad thing.
 
that is true Bathtubgin but our CB situation was a bad thing so to make I'm taking it as a positive.

5 - I believe that was exactly my point. If Tracy couldn't supplant the fellaz in front of him quickly, then there would have really been a need for concern. Follow Me?
