Tourney Central (It’s time for ball!)

Tbh, after watching Miss st throughout the regional... they dont impress me that much. Better than us, but not as much as youd think.

Absolutely.

Also, if you bring in Cicconi, like he did in Game 1, then be **** sure that you win.

Morris was always resolute in regards to pitching. I thought that all of his pitching choices were strategically impeccable.

Frankly, I would have pitched Keysor yesterday.

Di Mare seems to using his pitchers in a desperate manner. Would love to know if Arteaga agrees with this...

"Be **** sure that you win" - a 100% meaningless statement. Guess we should've saved him for when we were up 12-0 yesterday.

And no, I doubt Arteaga agrees with your Monday morning QB hot takes.

That's only part of the story. How about games 1 and 2 vs FSU, 2 and 3 vs GT, etc.? We lost some games, as you pointed out, and we won some others.

The net effect is a good-but-not great team. It's silly to look at a few losses and say those are the most meaningful outcomes. They all count.

Do you agree with Di Mare's pitching choices during this Regional? I think he had very good year, but am against his pitching choices thus far in the Regional...

One game at a time. It's baseball - anything can happen.

Despite our loss in the opener, it's obvious we were screwed by the Committee looking at the Oregon State results. 0 - 2 in a home regional, and lost 10 of their last 15. They had no business getting a bid the way they played the last month. Let's hope it helps us next year; glad Gino called them out or they'd keep disrespecting us.

You can’t look at Regional results AND say that we got screwed. If the regionals are used to judge selection day, we certainly did not establish that we should have been a host.

The Palo Alto Regional

Which makes all the sense in the world that we got MSU and then in a miracle, Stanford travel and F$U got Athens and then L$U.

Georgia is a **** of team and F$U is playing better right now, but IMHO, Clemson should have gone to UGA (or us) and F$U should have gone to Ole Miss or MSU....if they are basing #2 seeds on anything more than who they personally want to go where.

CMU's 3rd best pitcher is no match for our batters. Why not use Keysor? Am not sure that Arteaga had "final say" in this. Our pitching decisions during this Regional are in stark contrast to prior years.

Who do we pitch against MSU? (I full expect to obliterate Yoda and his merry imbeciles this afternoon.)

Again, they don’t differentiate between 2-seeds.

Imo it doesn't matter who he starts vs. CMU. We need a blow out win. Seems feasible if CMU's starting pitcher today is their third baseman.

Completely agree!

Keysor is not awful at all. He is decent and is 6-1 with a 3.78 ERA.

Keysor in the afternoon and Belle in the evening gives us a decent chance to win this **** thing!

I tend to agree but I see what they are doing too. Van Belle in game 1 should mean we don’t risk running a bunch of guys in game 1. Keysor starts game 2 and you hope he goes at least once through. 3-4 innings. If we can get through 5 or so with Mixon/Fed after that, you can turn it over to Veliz. He can give you 4-5 tonight if he is throwing good.

Georgia Tech has gone from the brink of the Regional Final to down two runs with Coastal still threatening in the first inning of an elimination game

Again, there MUST be geographical considerations. Since you have clearly been involved in the selection process over the years, maybe you can clarify.

Of course there are. But this board still wants to claim that we should have been sent to a weaker #1 just because. When it comes to pairing a #2 with a #1, the quality of the #1 is not considered.

Definitely better than us in re: close out ability before yesterday.

I hate feeling like we have to hang 9-10 runs if we score early for fearing 5-7 won't be enough. When we sat at 4-0 against Southern briefly yesterday, as ridiculous as it was, the "ohh f-ks" started creeping in.

I called it with my Cane buddies watching CMU....it just started getting waaay too UNC familiar....they called me insane up 4-0.
We just seem to relax just that little bit sometimes in the field and at the plate. Taking NOTHING away from CMU pitching at the mid- end.

Oh well....new day, new attitude.
