Just saw it. Looks like it will be real nice when its done. Clownin the Beasts videography though. Eat a salad homes!

Cool. Think all that waddling gave me motion sickness though. Like having a camera on the prow of a ship in high swell.

That guy does waddle like a duck. LOL. He must be huge. Nice video

thats pretty sweet. I like how they put compliance and academic advisor offices together. Smart move.
Also like the new medical center, with the cold tub, hot tub and underground training/rehabilitation pool. Thats bad ***.
One thing I didn't get was the trophy case by Golden's office..Is that going to stay? I know they'll use the one at the entrance but will golden keep trophies by his office as well?

Amazing. And important. Kudos to all at the Hecht who helped get this done. Its great to be.

So now the facilities argument is gone for other schools trying to negative recruit our kids

Only thing they have now is "looming sanctions"

And when that's over.......oh boy

To be transparent, this is like a 1/5 of what a lot of schools we recruit against have, but it is a nice upgrade nonetheless

Sadly, the argument isn't even close to gone. While this is a marked improvement, we're still miles behind most of our competition. For instance, while we're busy making $15M in improvements, Arkansas is currently making $125M in improvements (no typo).

We're never going to get the facilities type kids. But kids who want a great education, want to play in the NFL, want to play on TV all the time and compete for championships while working hard... those are Canes.

All valid points. I also seriously question how important those things really are to kids?
Miami winning again will overcome any shortcomings in facilities, IMO.
I've never heard a kid say I wanted to go to X university because of their great weight room.

I've literally heard kids specifically reference the weight room at Texas! And of course facilities everywhere. UO comes to mind with every kid. A lot of these kids come from nothing, and the culture of overspending on jewelry, a car you cant afford, etc, carries over to wanting to pimp out at school.

Keep in mind that recruiting often comes down to hair-splitting decisions. Sometimes its dead even between 4 or more schools, and the slightest thing can sway a 17 year old kid. The buildings you are going to spend day in and day out for the next four years, practicing, studying, training, etc, matter to these kids. ****, they would matter to everyone, just to different extents.

Not to mention that in order to build the facility, they needed to cut into the practice field to do so.

It's not like UM had some land sitting around and just decided to use it for the football squad. This is kind of just "rearranging" the space we currently had.

good point..benefit of being @ a state school out in the middle of no where is that they can spread out and purchase land to expand facilities. UM is a different type of school limited by its surounding. the benefits of UM's location IMO outweigh some of the cons re: space/facilities etc. Miami is an major international city. the diversity of women alone is uncomparable...even to ASU (and I have personally been there....fine fine quality but will take Miami/So. Florida women any day)

Yes, another benefit is Coral Gables. Maybe we don't have 20 acres of track for you to stretch on, but when you are done, you get to walk off the field and be in the Beverly Hills of the SouthEast. Not a bad way to spend four years.
