Miami(19th) tied with UF, USC, and TAMU for 77 wins in the last 10 seasons (7-8 wins per year).
FSU with 71. Also ahead of the fighting Kiffins.

There’s a 14 win gap from #4 to #5. It just shows how rare it is for a team to be really good for multiple seasons in a row. The teams from 11-15 are trash now and BYU wasn’t in a P4 conference until 2023 so most of their wins shouldn’t even count. Texas has won three more games than us over the last decade.

For as bad as we have sucked, I am stunned. Literally stunned. You'd think UF and FSU were way better than us the way the talking heads explain things.
Not for nothing, but the SEC was a little tougher place to play than ACC over the past ten years.

Fair enough, but the bias runs deep, and FSU has been right here with us.

The talking heads would have you believe they are a year or two removed from excellence, which is far from the truth.

True but remember UF played in the old SEC East meaning they got to duck Alabama and LSU most years while only having to deal with Georgia and a Tennessee team that’s been bad until very recently.

Get the best players and you will be near the top

Thought that said, “Total Wine,” for a second. Solid beer selection for a corporate chain.

Mix in some above average coaching and it gets real different
Our problem is stacking difference makers at an elite top tier school clip. We do that most of the issues will be resolved and we will hit that next level. We right there on the cusp but IMO we aren't recruiting as a juggernaut yet. Its a tier under top programs and the results are justified to be where tf we at. Until that changes we will stay in the area we are in, 8-10 win team. Its 100 times better than previous staffs, but there is another level we need to hit to break through and be among the elites.

crazy that even just 2-3 more "good" seasons and we are in the top 15.

We have been hovering at slightly relevant but cant get out of our own way

I agree to an extent but based on talent available we should have more wins than TCU, BYU, Utah, Wisky, Iowa and Ok State. And we certainly should have more than 1 win better than Cincy and NCSt during this stretch of time.

It can’t just be “we gotta get more talent”. Coaching also involves beating teams you aren’t as talented as… kinda like GT vs Us the last two years.

Or coaching them up… like GT vs UGA this past year. Talent wise should’ve been no contest right?

It’s more than just getting talent. Texas overall recruiting class ranking over the last decade: 1,5,3,5,15,9,3,3,26,6

They have won 80 games over that same period.

Alabama, Georgia and Ohio State are the only schools that have recruited at that level but they managed to win a lot more games.

The only thing I learned from this is that we've been vaguely a top 25 team over the last 9 years. We manage to finish maybe half of the seasons ranked.

What this really says: Average is terrible.

It's why I would be happy for now to consistently be around 10 wins. It's rare to do that. If we can do that we can go on runs where who knows what happens.
