Tory Carter 2017 3* FB from Lee County, GA as a UM Recruit

Would never burn a scholly on a FB...

Would offer as a preferred walk-on, but wouldn't take a spot in a class where you need at least 3-4 CB's, 3-4 WR's & 4 OL's.

Picture this if you will Tory Carter didn't have an offer from LSU so he went to their camp and curb stomped everyone to the point he caught Led Miles's attention and was offered on the spot. Now we all know Led Miles likes ( no scratch that loves) violent football, so for if the mad hater was offered him even though LSU already has 3 fullbacks you know the kid is worth it. Especially considering Miami will have none next year.

I don't doubt anything you're saying... My point is, we ain't LSU, we don't have a roster like there's... In fact, we literally already got a player that used to play for them, because we needed OL's so bad.

It's very simple, if he's a take in this class that means he's taking someone else's spot & for this class that spot will undoubtedly be in an area of need... So who's spot would you give him?

I'm sorry, I'm not taking a FB (in this class) over another OL, another WR, another CB, another LB or another DL.
But, like I said wouldn't have a problem with it as a walk-on.

We could "technically" sign 36 players since we have the ability to classify 11 as EE's. The FB wouldn't necessarily be taking a recruits spot he could be taking a JAGS spot.

Not saying this is plausible just something to consider. (obviously we'd have to trim the roster to 85 after signing day)

Gotta disagree Liberty.

Harbaugh has made a career of stacking his roster with very physical tough guys at FB and TE. These guys give his teams a physicality so absent from most other teams, particularly those in the Big 12, PAC 12 and ACC. They send a message to opponents and teammates: tough guys are welcome on this team. Be tough or go home.

Our current FB is a terrific example of this physicality. Remember his weight room video where everyone was going crazy as he set a new record lift? 36 has been underutilized but has come back on the scene in our last two wins. My bet is that he will see substantial playing time over the next two weeks.

My only regret is that he has no more eligibilty. Getting a top FB on our roster four years would be amazing.

I'm not arguing we don't need one.. I'm saying I don't think we have space for one.

You'd take a FB over an OL, CB, WR, LB or DL?

On the long list of needs we have, FB is waaaayyy at the bottom lol.

I'd take him over a Carney or Wright. But any OT/CB/WR/or the Juco LB is obviously first in line. I'd also take him over Loftus, Henley, Jahair, Mcray, Langham. I just really like the way Richt uses the FB.

We don't need any 3* DL filler. Top DL are going to be lining up to play in this defense.
