With Miami needing a new FB for the 2017 season, it makes flipping Tory Carter 2017 3* FB from Lee County, GA who is currently committed to LSU an important yet understated part of UM's 2017 class. The 6'2" 260lbs Carter is what you draw up when you describe a full back he is also country strong with a 370lb bench and 600lbs squat as a junior in high school. The fact that LSU currently has 5 fullbacks on the roster none of whom are seniors, but still offered Carter after he camped with them speaks volumes about his abilities. Throw in Michigan offering him as a fullback as well, which also speaks to the young man's toughness.

Carter has good pop when contacting a defender and drives through the block delivering several pancake blocks in his highlight tapes. He also plays D-End for his high school starting next to the country's 5th best DT for 2017 DT Aubrey Solomon. But on the next level Carter knows his best position is fullback utilizing his very good ball skills coming out of the backfield as well delivering crushing blocks.

In an interview with scout he outlined how education is important to his parents and how he wants to go into coaching after college.

Carter seems like an intelligent young man that has a long term plan, which could play more into Miami being a better fit than LSU given Miami's need for FB an Carter wanting more playing time early in his career. An with UM's return to being a Top 40 academic institution this could be carrot for his parents. The state of Georgia has been Mark Richt's fiefdom for over a decade so hopefully if Miami makes a late push to flip Carter, when LSU's season implodes it will be like taking candy from a baby since not many offenses utilize fullbacks an who know's what offensive system a new coach would run.

We need a FB for next year so it would be nice to get this kid and possibly another grad transfer to give us a year while he gets used to college football.

LSU always has stud FBs so I'd make a big push for him, especially after Les is fired.

I assume your talking about Les getting canned somewhere between his next two losses...Dadgummit I'm gonna miss Jimbo when he's over there eating gumbo....

Jumbo to lsu seems a popular prediction. Just out of curiosity, what would be the upside of that for him?

So he doesnt have to play and/or recruit against Mark Richt's Miami Hurricanes. Smart move on his part imo.

I would typically say a country white dude or his parents would never come or be allowed to come to a city like Miami. But with pastor Richt I'd at least give it a chance.

Have you been out to Davie, fl it is country as **** and just a 20 min ride ( with out traffic) from Coral Gables. So he will be fine, no to mention Coral Gables is very different than Metro Miami. I hear what your saying about the overall culture shock of coming from rural Georgia.

With Coach Brown looking to add a Fullback to the 2017 class I would expect Tory Carter to get a long look.

Thomas Brown on the future of Miami Hurricanes’ offense | Canes Watch

......Brown said he plans to recruit a fullback, after losing Marquez Williams. Gage Batten, like Williams a senior, hasn’t played this year because of a foot injury...

Carter is taking an official visit to Michigan this weekend, Carter's family is big on education and he ultimately wants to get into coaching so coming from the Harbraugh tree could be beneficial. Miami's window to jump into the recruiting mix for Tory Carter could be closing. Michigan already has a 2017 Fullback committed from Trinity Christian in Jacksonville, FL.

Michigan already had two 2017 Fullbacks committed Chase Lasater from Trinity Christian in Jacksonville, FL who decommitted on Oct 10th and they still have 2017 FB\ILB Ben Mason from Connecticut.

I am thinking if the weekend goes well Tory Carter could replace Lasater in Michigan's 2017 class and would be an upgrade for them, I get the impression Lasater was dropped by Michigan.

can we get one of those FB's please

Would never burn a scholly on a FB...

Would offer as a preferred walk-on, but wouldn't take a spot in a class where you need at least 3-4 CB's, 3-4 WR's & 4 OL's.
