I see a lot of analysis of top TB's but who are the top FB recruits coming out this year? Richt's offense will make use of this position which is something that he referenced during his press conference. Does anybody have their eyes on the top sledge hammers out there?

Most of UGA's fullbacks over the years were either walkons or under the radar kids that their staff found an then finagled into a scholarship.

doubt we use a scholly on a fb..Those will be walk ons or kids moved another position. Its not a position I think you need to waste a scholly on, I would likely move a LB to FB if need be. Currently we have Herndon who plays the HBACK/Full Back role.....plus the Batten kid.

We need to recruit a beast like that hicks kid was for Georgia.

The offense he used at FSU didn't really use a lot of the FB until William Floyd got there. Most of the stuff they did was short yardage/goal-line work.

They ran a fairly fast-paced offense there when he was the OC.

I like 6'1" 240lbs 2017 FB Bokeyon Rice out of South Sumter HS from bushnell , FL as a preferred salmon offer to Miami.

I think the FB position is the least analyzed position today. This maybe do to the one back sets of today. I checked around not many sites have more than three prospects. The 2016 class had about six that were recruited to play that position.

If you look at AL and LSU who still run a traditional pro set they continue to recruit scholarship players at that position. It may be an area we may need to start looking at to find naturals at that position.

Good post Paranos. I like this kid good size and don't shy away from contact. And when he blocks the defender goes backwards. I think offenses that still run the wishbone is a good place to look.

why am I not surprised that your scoured the net searching for videos of high school males to provide us with this example. While I appreciate you posting, it is kinda weird that people like you do this for free

@three0five it took roughly 10 minutes. But I see the shade you are trying to throw.

FYI, I spent years processing real time data vs historical data to make snap choices so now I can process things fairly quickly. So simply filtering player profiles for a prototypical Fullback size with good speed then watching the first 30-45 seconds of highlights, allows one to come up with a short list. Also you have to discount for player geography to judge competition and guestimate heat tolerance to Florida weather.

We gonna look for a quad hill/ davenport type of fullback or someone who mainly just blocks?

Okay..Here we go..We presently have a horse for a fullback, who played the position in HS, but Al recruited him as a linebacker, which he was very good at, the Al put him at DE, which we have an abundance of, where he has gotten passed over because of being out of position....I'm talking about none other than Jamie Gordinier 6'4.5" 248 lbs. and still probably runs somewhere around 4.6 for the forty...Problem solved?

Very tall for a fullback! Anyway, couple of things here......he never played fullback in high school. He was a tight end. Also, he was a LB all through HS. Last year did not play any DE but played SAM and MIKE.
