Top 100 DE From Cali Wants Miami Offer (Jaelan Phillips)

He's definitely talented. However, I'm not trying to be funny but there are kids in Broward County just as talented that are under the radar. We don't need to go to Cali when we have players just as talented in our backyard.
Yea no the only one who's better than him is Owen Carney and He's in Miami

2017 DE Jaelan Phillips got thoroughly handled at the 2016 Nike Opening in LA.. Miami can find better candidates at D-End and OLB in Florida for the 2017 class.

I know ur EXTREMELY biased towards So Fla talent, and being that I live in Cali, I must ask, what tape were u watching?? Philips got home **** near every time! He got stoned twice. His 1st step is ridiculous. Plus, let's be honest, the OL talent he went up against was stoning everyone. A lot of good OL prospects in Cali this year. My point is, don't try to discredit a true talent, by hi lighting two plays were he was stopped to try to elevate So. Fla talent. So Fla talent is the creme dela creme, but if this kid wants to put on the Orange and Green, it doesn't mean he's less talented b/c he's not from So Fla. He's a major take, period.

Well you're not privy to everyone in South Florida. There are kids just as talented especially in Broward that are under the radar. This kid is great but we have kids just as talented in our back yard.

I personally couldn't care less where they come from. If they can help us win a championship, then get them here, develop them as players and men, get them to the league, and make room for the next class. They can be from BFE for all I care. And for the record, I am from SFL.

And apparently so does Miami's new staff because according to the latests Works Report. Miami's 2017 defensive recruiting board with committable offers consists only of Florida players.

Also I didn't say he was not talented I said there are better kids in Florida and throughout the south which is truth whether you watch tape, or look at the rankings. An in the 2nd video he mentions his top schools, where is UM mentioned in that video please tell me.

The Staff already stated they are staying home, first, then cherry pick out of the state. I have no problem with that, at all; that's how we used to do things. My point is your comment about his tape. it was a complete lie. U said he was thoroughly handled and that wasn't close to being the case. The kid got home consistently b/c his first step was explosive. You made it appeared that wasn't a take b/c his tape sucked and that was an utter lie, dog.

Remember this is a homer site so there will always be bias to SoFl. That being said, if he were a DT there would be a huge approval rating. While the focus for everyone team is home base first, Miami won't turn down a top prospect from anywhere. I would say the staff and fan base would prefer those kids commit and not use recruiting for a free visit to a place you adore. If that the case, then come for 3-4 years.

Totally agree. Richt is being smart. Honestly, I prefer Richt treat our offers like its gold, vs. Golden given anyone w a pulse an offer. And yes, I prefer we lock down home, first, then cherry pick outside; I just wasn't feeling Paranos blatant lie just to elevate So Fla talent. We don't ever have to diss other state's elite talent to elevate our backyard talent. There's a reason every major college in America camp out in our territory. But man, I can't stand homer posters flat out lying to make a point. If he would've said "his film look good, but I rather stay in house..." fine; but, my ninja str8 lied like we weren't going to hit the play button. Lol.

@ Rellyrell First off I didn't lie in offering my opinion as to how the young man performed at the camp.

2nd I am not a homer; it is well known that for years I have posted about kids with talent from all over the country that I feel are Miami Caliber and could help the team, so have signed with Miami some haven't. So for you to speak from such an ignorant point of only make you look truly uniformed.

3rd just to prove my point as to the superior level talent in the south and in particular Florida look at where the young man is ranked by the recruiting services vs some others kids from Florida or the south. I would not belittle someones efforts in sports just to create a post on forum, the talent throughout Florida and the south speaks for itself historically an in the 2017 class.

So keep your BS to yourself in the future.

First off, yes, u r totally a homer; I've been on this site long enough to know that u r totally biased towards So Fla talent, and that's OK. Second, u said the kid got THOROUGHLY HANDLED. That was a lie, and the way u stated it was not of an opinionated nature. An opinion would have been u saying, "I think....". You made a matter of fact statement, so please understand the difference between what an opinion is and what a "matter of fact statement is. That was my problem with your comment. If u gotta problem with my issue with ur statement, that's between u and u...

Scout interview sounds like a UCLA, Stanford lean never mentioned Miami.....no need to waste time the 247 interview sounds like he was just campaigning.... Lol. Seriously, if the kid 'really' wants a Miami offer it wouldn't hurt to give him a quick call to see if he wants to visit first.

Did you read the article excerpt that started the thread?? Why would he mention Miami if they're not on him?? Plus his Grandparents live in Fort Lauderdale, that helps That he knows that if he's needs to study but also need to do laundry or wants some home cooked food, help and a good meal is 30 minutes away
