Too Many True Frosh in Two Deep

or it can't mean we have had better recruiting classes and they are replacing and better than 4th year jrs and srs?

damned if you, damned if you don't.

what someone else said. not all those guys will be on the 2 deep come the start of the season. yearby and mcdermott were early enrollees and hs AA's.
and few, if any, will be counted on for major roles.

5, its truly a no-win for Golden, right now. If he doesn't get the true frosh in there, well, then it's,"See, this will be used against UM in recruiting as they aren't giving playing time to the youngsters, etc, yada, yada, yada.' Bottom line, if you're good enough( such as Taylor, Gore, Winslow, Rolle, like on that 2001 squad, you will - and should - play)

And let's face it, as promising as this team might be, this isn't 2001. This program has needed an infusion of talent for quite awhile now

I am pretty sure that Chad, Yearby, Berrios, Darling, McDermott would make the two deep in 95% of the schools playing division A ball!

No reason not to play them if they are that good.

Now if they were all starters your point would be more valid IMO.

We are not stacked like FSU, Bama etc but our two deep is pretty strong.

Let's see how it plays out but I think we will be very happy with their production this year.

It's year bleeping 4. No excuses.

....and year 1 without the NCAA hovering over the program. Laugh, mock all you wish.....but this program was a shytcan when the new regime came here. I think Golden will ultimately be a Ron Zook, but he will hand this program over in a much, much better condition than what he took over.

they are trying to motivate other players while making the freshmen feel good since coaches promised them playing time although many will get some playing time.

If they are talented enough. Let the quality freshmen play.

There's no reason to shirt the majority of this class since it is one of our best class under Golden.

Let the big dogs eat.

I am as excited as anyone about the season however my fear is the number of True Frosh in the two deep.
- If you look at the last depth chart (which as we know Al sometimes includes 3 players) we have 5 True Frosh on O and 5 on D that we are depending on in 2014
- If you look at the top teams we are playing virtually none of them have this many True Frosh in their 2 deep --- some RS Frosh but very few True's
- Don't get me wrong, these kids will be the corner stone to success in the future but last year at the high school level, these kids were almost always playing against someone slower and smaller than what they will see in College

Yes - every top 10 team this year will have a couple True Frosh that will help them --- but I am not sure anyone in the top 20 will depend on as many as we are

Go Canes

Funny thing is that, if we only had a few freshmen 2nd teamers, our moronic online fans would be screaming at how Golden values experience over good young talent.

Our 2 deep is short on seniors because Golden's 1st class was a patch job, and his next 2 classes were a few dedicated Canes, with anybody else who would say yes to a program, whose continued existence was tenuous at best.
