Tomorrow's Scrimmage - Better Indication

The recruits were saying the defense handled the offense. I think we will have a Top 15-20 defense this year. It takes 1.5 years for players to get it and I put that right at the NC State game. I'll take the dink and dunk offense if it gets us wins, because in theory we are 2 years away from a NC. Miami was filthy when it had a great defense, add in a really good game-manager or above average QB and it will start to roll.

too many freshman to have a top 15-20 defense overall this year. way too many.

we won't have an experienced qb in 2 years. kevin will probably start getting integrated in. no chance at winning a NC without an established qb.

I wouldn't say the defense got their but kicked last scrimmage. If you run 10+ from the 2 yard line and they score 4 or 5 TDs...it just is what it is. The defense definitely handled them in the Spring game and with this being a more game like situation, I expect to see the offense have more problems again like they did in the spring.

Well while we're making excuses for the defense... how about one for the offense in the spring. Morris didn't play in the game.
Starting QB not playing > few LBs not playing

Hate to burst your bubble but the defense is ahead of the offense. IF Coach D sicks the dogs on the offense the offense gets shut down, period. The only one making excuses is you claiming that putting the team in certain situations equates to the defense being behind the offense. Golden basically laughed at the reporter who tried to make the same claim you're making right now. Giving the offense some confidence does not mean the defense is behind.

Where did I say this? Did anyone actually read my first post?
I said tomorrow should be a better indication GIVEN that last scrimmage was more situational (not realistic).

Ok, well as long as you understand that the defense is further along then we're all good.

Neither are very far along. Like picking the slower of 2 turtles

Not true at all. The defense is going to be light years ahead of last year. There was zero DT depth last year which is why teams just pinned our ears back and ran right at the D. That will not be the case this year.

the last scrimmage was a joke for stats...they did so much red zone and goal line the D was bound to get toasted...Sept 1st counts until then relax and drink like a *****.

The defense is much bigger and much faster this year

The CB position alone has shown major improvement and depth.

Safety position still iffy like last year.

DTs are bigger and deeper

DE is meh

Whats the Vegas line?? Still got a few hours to drop a few Benjies on it...... ;-p
