This was my point for the troglodytes that weren't getting it. The kid was a diva during his recruitment. He doesn't even last a few months before complaining about a roommate situation. Don't care how sh1tty his roommate was, the kid is not happy being catered to and that is a recurring theme. Usually, players like this fizzle out in college. It is what it is.

Reading comprehension is key. He is taking a shot at the guy saying it’s not a big deal he asked for a room transfer. Steele clearly had a point bc his roommate was involved in a rape case a couple months later. His dad has already posted he is transfering because of that and his child’s name getting dragged through the mud(people have claimed he was involved).

Side note for older people Smh means “shake my head”

I agree, but if I am his parents I am proud of my son for recognizing a bad situation & influence and having the conviction (no pun intended) to say something about it and try to remove himself from the situation. That shows maturity and leadership.

I hope you're not serious. You're better than this.
So to be a "man" and not be a complainer he should accept being a roommate with a bonafide rapist who may have assaulted girls in their room and for sure will drag his name in the mud? I'm hoping your'e joking but unfortunately you're not. Sad.

Who ever said what you are saying? Not me.

I wasn't joking. It's unfortunate he was stuck with a sh1tty roomate. Is it cause for bolting out of school he early enrolled at? Like I said, regardless of the circumstances, these types of kids who are quick to bounce around, rarely pan out to much in college. He may be a good player and kudos to him, but he would be an exception.

Steeles dad said it was because his name was getting dragged into the rape allegations. He told Mullen he wanted to change roommates bc Jones was weird(probably told him he was way more then weird). Two months later jones rapes a girl. The issue was two fold Steele’s name getting brought up in rape allegation like he was involved and Mullen not listening to a player when he had big issue with his roommate, which he was right about.

Mullen is suppose to be like a father figure to these kids so if he did nothing when Steele said Jones had major character issues and he didn’t want to room with him it makes Florida and Mullen look like they don’t care about players once they enroll. Should be great for any team to negative recruit against that parachute pants wearing cornball.

There's a whole new spin to all of this today on their 247site. Essentially, Steele was not happy from the beginning, some of which is attributed to homesickness. The story goes he and the parents were talking about a transfer before the incident with Jalon Jones and the whole situation provided a convenient out. Steele DID ask to be moved - he and Hill did not like JJ at all. The story goes that the request was made to his position coach, who happens to be the newest guy on staff, and it was never communicated to Mullen. (here's the fall guy) While they never wanted his name associated with the unpleasant mess, it did provide him with a waiver excuse. Once JJ was gone, Steele no longer had a reason to move his room but by then it was too late. Steele has been home in Cali for almost 2 weeks. Mullen and his wife flew out to Cali on Wednesday to speak with the family and apologize .

It's entirely possible this is the actual truth and things may work out for him in the end...
They believe he will end up at Oregon if mario can work the numbers.

Thanks for the update. From that is sounds like the kid felt he made a mistake about choosing Florida pretty quickly once he got to campus. I can see it from both side bc you shouldn’t leave because of homesickness but at the same time coaches didn’t address a clear issue he had with a roommate and is ultimately why he can probably leave with no penalty. It all just boils down to more negative publicity for Florida and another blow to their already shaky cornerback situation.

If you truly think he is transferring just bc of his sh1tty roommate and that his monocle wearing parents don’t want his name dragged through the mud, I think you’re being naive. Besides, internets are saying that Steele isn’t exactly mr innocent (reportedly he’s being named in the allegation).
