2025 Timothy Merritt, CB - Parker HS (Birmingham, AL) offered

Sounds like he is a prime coach Jackson target. Love the size and length (pause) that we are after in the secondary. His ceiling is pretty high IMO. There’s some stiff competition for him but thats a good thing, we are after the right ones.
He's very similar to another Alabama Corner that Chevis eval'd & recruited, JaCobee (Cobee) Bryant.

Definite Take in this class.

The Tim Merrit OV tweet is there, but CIS won't show any tweet marked sensitive (IDK why its marked sensitive)

Parker is keeping a lot of kids that would have went to Hoover or Thompson. Mike Jackson from the U went to Parker before transferring to Spain Park. That team was very young and made a run in the playoffs. They play in 6A I’ve said before that 6A in Alabama is deeper than 7A. This kid is good.

Excerpts:

- “When coach Jackson was at Marshall, he told me whenever he got somewhere bigger he was coming to get me, and he kept his word,” Merritt told CaneSport. “He kept his word, and I feel like that is special. Also, Miami speaks for itself.”

- “That’s very important, because in this business all you have is your word,” Merritt said. “If you don’t stand for nothing, you’ll fall for anything.”

- “It’s been really good, and I just got off the phone with the head coach,” Merritt said of his relationship with Miami’s staff. “He was just letting me know he’s ready for me to get down there. For me, being a kid from Alabama, that’s special for me.”

- “Just the relationship I’ve built with the coaches and to see the facilities,” Merritt said. “I really want to feel the environment in the building.”

- “Relationships,” Merritt said when asked what he looks for the most in a program. “That’s important to me. I also want to play early and see if I fit into a program scheme, how many defensive backs they run on the field, and how they take care of my mom. Things like that.”

**** lol…That's pretty ruthless when you're at another school!

Manfred
Merrit
Anding
Purcell
Antoine

I think we'll land 1 of the 5 main SEC country DB kids with a chance at 2, with Antoine being the least likely... I'd love for us to get involved with the Arkansas kid Robinson at safety as well.

- CB Timothy Merritt (Birmingham, AL) is a name first reported in the Bank, and his relationship with Chevis Jackson continues to grow. He is visiting this weekend and could be a name to watch.

All of this plus the new report seems like he’s all cane. Our staff specializes in building relationships

Physicality, great length and good closing speed. I can’t find any verified outdoor track times. The indoor times I found weren’t good. 7.3 in the 60m and only 19 feet in the long jump.
