No, it’s not worth $500mm. Portnoy’s interest is not remotely as valuable as you think. Penn didn’t just cut bait for $1. It gets 50% gross on any subsequent sale or disposition.

$150M or $1B. Whatever. He is not putting down his money, he is “face” of the deal but the real money is coming from 1 or more Michigan boosters who don’t want or can’t have their names associated with the deal,

At most Portnoy kicked in a couple hundred grand and a barstool merchandise/podcast deal.

Why? He is alumn with money. No different than all these other schools buying players.

He is just more public about what he does.

He was involved in Travis Hunter not going to FSU and pairing with Deion.

This what NIL is. He is leveraging barstool a legit company to broker a deal.

This is just some random fan paying into a collective to buy a player. If anything he is exactly what NIL was supposed to be

Unless Michigan cleans house, their ceiling is 8-9 wins. Essentially Harbaugh level before he started cheating. You can pay your quarterback 20 million dollars but it won’t matter when he goes 8/13 98 0/0 every week and transfers somewhere after a year.

Terrific take and insight here. People are talking about Ryan Day being on the hot seat. I don't believe that to be true. However, say what you want about people in Baton Rouge and Louisiana, but they are respectful people and good people from my experiences. They don't like condescending A holes like Kelly. They will get rid of him if needed.
