You know, Luke in the past was a huge Miami fan, and there's clear evidence all over 305.

I do wish that all the frictions could be resolved. I know that it's built over many years and isn't an overnight correction, but ****. Luke is not always the best behaved, maybe not the pinnacle of moral superiority, but he sure has a bug up his *** over something.

And like it or not, Luke's opinion still has weight in some areas. Anyone know what's his main source(s) of ongoing friction?

Ehhhh... ITU reported that some local coaches are pretty ****ed at UM and they confronted Barrow about it at some coach clinic. They are still angry and some programs have supposedly told players not to step foot on UM's campus... Yikes.

It seems like all these SoFla HS coaches need to be treated with kid gloves.

I can't imagine why, we are recruiting in SoFla harder then we have been in the last 5-10 years. Most of our guys this year are from SoFla.

And BTW any coach that steers a kid away or toward a program isn't doing their job and are doing the kid a disservice. There are very few extreme cases where it might be in the right to steer a kid from a program.
 
These coaches are just like some of the kids. Wonder were they get it?
And Luke, do not know him. But if you have a problem why not go to al himself instead of spread it everywhere. To me this is the way a man handles business.

Jeez- any other info? We were all under the impression that Golden was about re-building those Randy-torched bridges. Granted, there's been a lot of kool-aid consumed this past year or so, but I definitely thought Golden was a better communicator than that would suggest. There has to be more at play here.

I was at the clinic. The only staffs I saw there were Norland, BTW and Northwestern. If they argued with Barrow, they did not do it in public. I was at his and Golden's lecture. No issues that I saw.
 
Seriously? Golden is going to f'up his new relationships? lol.

yeah right.

More negativism fanned by Gates and Noles is more like it.

umm we had one of his kids..(mnw safety nate taylor)...essentially get offered by a coach apparently..either Barrow or Hurlie Brown had them tell Luke he has an offer...the kid thought so and seemed ready to commit and even told websites he was committed only to find out there was NO offer as of yet..basically a f**k up by OUR STAFF....so imma give Luke a pass on this one......

- There was no need to rush this kids apparent offer or even gas up Luke and even other former canes(apparently taylor knows a few i believe Dre Johnson,etc) and he doesnt have the offer YET...think even if he earns it later he doesnt take it.

Luke has a little right in this matter to be a bit mad at someone.
 
I like Cain ever since Duke of 2010... He's probably our most athletic and fundamentally sound backer... His issue is strength... He's always at the ball he just weak... Hope he improves in that area... Talented player... We have talented guys but they need to put in work... I have stated before that I liked the majority of guys Shannon brought in but Mcgee was a disappointment to me... The kid was ranked a 4 star but he wasnt a football player... He was just fast... Too be honest I was somewhat impress with his performance last year because I had no expectations for him... Hopefully he makes strides and compete to start... This is his last go round... And Luke is no different from every other high school coach... If we want Nate Taylor he'll be here... We heard the same thing in regards to Shannon, Coker and Butch... Everyone isnt going to like Golden... As long as he wins, we'll be alright...

There were never torched bridges... Some coaches are worse than their players... If Golden takes a player from a certain school they'll love them... If he denies them the'll hate him until he takes someone else from their school... These coaches need to go somewhere... This has been going on for a while...

Randy didn't burn any bridges? Not sure about that. Tampa Plant is one where we weren't welcome under Shannon after the Marve situation.
 
Fine. If some of our staff LED a player to believe he had an offer which wasn't intended - then there is justification to be ****ed.

That's a communication problem - and one that needs to be addressed VERY clearly to all the staff. The last damned thing we need is HS coaches with the redass.

And I don't know, but if I were interested in a kid, one of my first moves would be to communicate clearly and concisely with the kid and the parents - and be sure the parents stay in the loop on a regular basis. THEN coaches can be worked with - or not.

This idea of HS coaches having this much real or perceived influence - especially over a kid's future - is BS. It should be the business of the kid, his parents, and THEN coaches input.

I don't think coaches should have any input unless they are asked by the kid/family. Choosing a college is a personally/family decision.

1) The walk-on punter is Cam Dean (transfer from Fordham I believe)

2) Offensive GA's always work with the OL due to numbers. Our last 3 offensive GA's have worked with OL.

3) I love how ITU is reporting coaches are mad at Miami...uh..ya...because you guys are breaking false commitments. ITU does more harm than good.

4) **** Luke. No kid is gonna care what Luke has to say when Golden is in his living room talking to him and his parents. Luke and Golden are at their positions for a reason. Luke is just hurt MNW isn't half the school Central is right now. MNW went from a top 10 HS in the country to a top 10 HS in Dade County.

From what I understand this guy is a fairly big dude, unlike Boomer (who was a former QB). I would like to have a former OL there. Don't know this guy's background, though.

Kid went to my High School, Saint Andrews. Probably charmin soft but who cares if he's punting well.
 
I think Luke is butthurt because he fancies himself as a coach and wants a job at UM. Think Golden doesn't want to deal with him at all because of his past, rightly so, IMO
