Thoughts on Golden being able to pull solid Miami area RB's

So for all the hype Golden gets on recruiting, why is he struggling to recruit top RBs considering he's recruiting out of one of the best areas in the country for good rbs? This is not to bash him, but just want to know people's thoughts, because even under the cloud, there are 2 areas we should not have depth issues in, wr and rb.

In the first class, I'm not blaming him because of the circumstances of coming in at the end of the season with little to no commits. Crawford, our backup rb was recruited as a db.

Class 2, he got Duke, but Duke would have come regardless of the coach. He was all cane even if we didn't have a coach. Golden had a solid class in this year, but somehow failed to pull in a second solid rb considering Miller was likely leaving in a year or 2, Mike James was gone in a year and really the only competition was Duke. His only other rb recruit was Dillard who was not going to be a threat to any rb that was decent, in a class where we signed 33 recruits and 5 WR (5 WR in one class is not quite necessary when we had much bigger needs imo).

Class 3, he left Florida to recruit Gus Edwards (not impressive so far, but he's a freshman) and ray lewis III (which we dont really know anything about yet) at rb. How is it in a year when we knew Duke would be our only major rb, that he could not sell serious PT to a solid RB from miami? Yes we got negative recruited, but as many solid RB's as the area produces, we couldn't get anyone to commit?

Class 4, We are currently looking at signing only 1 rb total in Yearby and while he is solid on paper (4 star) he is a bit smaller, but we'll see how he does on the field. We have depth issues and in this class, with the playing time that is potentially available to a new rb, and the cloud is over, so there is no excuses of recruiting hindrances this year, why is it that Golden can't pull another good rb. All of the uncommitted ones seem to be leaning elsewhere. Unless Golden has a silent ready to go, then it looks like quality RB depth will continue to be an issue. Even Shannon was able to get good RB's fairly easy it seemed. RB's were falling into his lap. He probably didn't really have to recruit them very hard.

Thoughts?

Top running backs see 1 guy...Duke Johnson, He may have some trouble getting a kid to listen to that he is going to come off the bench as long as OG Randy Johnson isnt gone or leaving after this season.

2 out of 4 classes he's gotten arguably the best rbs from Miami yet we have this poncho character complaining.
And who from Miami other than Miller did Shannon get fairly easy?
Reason why we've had depth isssues at RB IS BECAUSE SHANNON DIDN'T RECRUIT IT WELL.

2 out of the 4 classes? Who am I missing?

He brought in Duke. Otherwise, meh.

More concerning is his recent trend of missing on Collins, Michel, Cook, and now Powell.

THAT is a problem and every Hurricane fan has plenty of reason to be upset with the subpar result.

He can identify talent but when other schools put the full court press he struggles with elite pulls

Yearby

You might want to go back and check. Golden messes up the running back depth. He had storm James miller and duke committed when he took over.

Golden has failed the past two recruiting class to bring in elite RBs.

4 misses Collins, Cook, Sony, and Powell

The one elite RB(Yearby) is only coming here because of Coley.

The RB depth can't be blamed on shannon anymore

I'm not sure, but how much does a TRUE RB coach play in these kids minds? The guy who left when fish did was pretty good, right?

Clements was highly thought of. He also landed Storm Johnson OOS amd Mike James from the Orlando area. Shannon's RB recruiting ***** on what Golden has done and that is truly awful. Duke actually committed to Shannon so you might as well give him credit for that one too. Yearby will be the first 4 star RB to commit and sign to Golden. I remember when Golden first got here he said OL and RB were the only positions that look like they should. So tell me again how Shannon left no one at RB.

of course you're not going to sign all of them but Golden needs to do better then 1 out of 5

Their is a big drop off in talent behind Duke

No need for the Clowns part

You are confused.
Duke committed to the University of Miami and signed his letter of Intent on NSD when Golden was the coach for over a year.
Bridgewater committed to Shannon. KNow the difference.

And the OP is talking about Miami RB's.
But since you want divert, who had a higher RB drafted, Golden or SHannon?

Collins was delivered to ARk by his coach. Sony to UGA was always about the money. Cools family has been shopping him around since optimist! Granny got a new house in Tally. Also cook was tired of living in Yearbys shadow.

If Collins was a bright kid and his coach wasn't a a fat slob who only cared about himself - we would if landed Collins.

Sony and Cook we just simply couldn't compete with.

We are very lucky to have Yearby! The kid is a dynamite player. He will get burn this year for sure.

No clue why RB recruiting is so bad. Wouldn't be bad to take at least one set the radar south Florida guy per year and try to land one big fish. I don't know why a RB would go to FSU or UF but they do. Georgia I can understand, Bama I can definitely understand. I think it's easier to get in the rotation at UF but they love the committee approach.

Miami has to do a better job appealing to elite South Florida recruits. Coley and Duke as a nice as anyone has in terms of playmakers but there are a lot of potential gets that Golden and Shannon whiffed on. Some awards this year for Duke or Coley would go a long way.
