Those that Transferred out

Thats why they left cause they weren't going to be starters here. They made the right move for themselves. SMU defense has stepped up big time this season
Harrison-Hunt, non factor so far

I have to admit that you are 💯 correct in that Brashard Smith needed to go elsewhere to make his mark. However , the fact that we didn’t know how to use Brashard Smith who currently has 509 yards rushing, averaging 7.3 yards per carry and 7 rushing Touchdowns, while our leading rusher has 250 yard’s rushing and 4.6 yards per rush, with 4 TDs and our running game has had it’s struggles? Although most of the transfers can be written off as not capable of contributing on our talented roster, this one is certainly not a good look for our coaching staff.
And everyone here says Rhett Lashlee has no run game

Kaleb Spencer had a really good game against us. Are we worried about any others that left? Louisville have a few that may get significant PT.
Not sure I would say really good game. Sure he had an impactful INT off a nice tip, but he got dog-walked by our TE and should have housed that with the convoy he had.

Also...did you see him on the Ward to Riley play that set us up for the winning TE? A safety should be able to bring down a QB.

So we should have benched X for Smith?? Dude are you on drugs?? I’m happy for Smith he is getting the playing time he deserves. But it wouldn’t have happened here. Mario has done a great job upgrading this team. Some players had to go so we can get the players they felt wouldn’t quit or ***** about playing time.

I like him, but Lashlee did the same **** here that people are complaining about currently….his run game was like two plays and every now and then we’d pop a long one to make the 10 infuriating short ones before it look better in the stat sheet. He also got absolutely neutralized anytime we played a defense with a pulse.

I like the guy.
I hope he continues to do well at SMU.

His last year here vs p5 comp, we averaged 103 rushing yards per game/89th in the country.
01 Games YPC vs good defenses:
Bama- 2.8
MSU- 2.2
NC St.- 2.5
Pitt- 2.2
FSU-1.9
VT- 1.8
Duke- 3.9

Great start for Rhett. Looks like Brashard is being used nicely.
Let's see if that running game continues for him there.
He didn't have one here.

I am not the one on drugs. No one on this thread ever talked about benching X (an all ACC WR) for Smith (on pace to be an all ACC RB in his first year at RB) - certainly not me. In one respect, I agree with you that some had to go but we did lose a couple (including 2 RBs Smith and Parish, who is on pace to be an all SEC RB) who I wish had stayed. But I have to trust the coaches that the benefits of the portal will outweigh the costs in the end, and that our running game will find its way the second half of the season. But right now, I have to speak about what the season stats say
