It makes zero sense for MT's mom to be pushing for FSU.

She can't even make his HS games, she'd never see the kid if he went up there.

I heard Tennessee coaches had Jones and their entire defensive staff do an in-home with Von Bell last week. LB, DC, DB and DL coaches + Jones.

You could throw Mario in there and still be safe.

That Thomas's mom just woke up one day and had a revelation and all of a suddenly started feeling more comfortable with Jimbo, and made 2 phone calls to him on the day that they're visiting?

That it was in fact Jimbo making the calls. First to make sure they were getting on the plane. And then again once they got in and just wanted to check in with her and make sure everything is good and they were settled in.

No, the "sane and rational" view has ALWAYS been to expect this kid to sign with UM. His mom wants him here. The only school he could go to where his mother would get to see him play is UM, and he has said that he wants that. He's been to campus tons of times. He took an official visit here. He has routinely said that Miami is recruiting him the hardest of any school. Micheal Barrow has been on him forever. And Micheal Barrow would actually be his position coach in college, unlike Coley, who wouldn't even coach on the same side of the ball as Thomas. He goes to Booker T. Washington, a school that FSU has never signed a player from. A school whose coach used to be on staff on UM. Whose most notable player in the years before Matthew Thomas played at UM. And an assistant coach at that school ran track at UM. And, Micheal Barrow is personal friends with the head coach of that school. And now, the only reason he had interest in FSU is at UM. So no, the "sane and rational" view has always been that this kid ends up at UM, just like the "sane and rational" view was that Kenny Phillips would end up at UM even though Trooper Taylor did a great job recruiting him, just like James Coley did with Matthew Thomas. It's like you can't handle any "sane and rational" view that has things going extremely well for UM. Get out of here with that bull****.

The sane and rational thing is to EXPECT, that a fickle 18 year old kid, is going to sign with us, just because? It is one thing if the kid said this was his dream school, committed early and has been recruiting for us since. A Duke Johnson situation. Instead, this kid, who is NOT some clown or troll, has been thoughfully weighing his options, and enthusiastically visiting other schools, while only schduling a mid week visit, late in the game, to the "hometown" school, which you insist he's a LOCK to. And despite coming from a pipeline feeder school, and his family all wanting him here, the kid has yet to give any clear indication that he's going to come here in the end. And lets not ignore the fact that the two time defending National Champs are hot and heavy after him too.

But F8ck it, lets ignore all the danger signs, and just ASSUME he's ours, just becuase, I mean he's a Miami kid, and they never flake out and go elsewhere right?

COme on MANE. All this guy said was, the last week, and getting Coley has certainly helped us with the kid, but that may not be a done deal yet. And you SERIOUSLY dont think that's a rational or sane view? LOL. After all these years, its INEXCUSABLE for YOU of all people, to be sitting there acting like this kid is a lock, when he has NOT committed, is STILL taking other visits, and has NOT given any indication that he's just messing with people, etc... but rather all signs show that the kid really is undecided, and although we certainly have a good shot, it is by NO means a "lock".

****, didnt Mr. Uber Insider Random Walk give us about a 50-60% chance? Is that a Lock? Bakas seems to think its a UM vs Bama "battle", and for whatever you can say about them, they arent total morons who have never followed recruiting. So to act like anyone who doesnt dismiss this kid as a "LOCK" is being irrational, is just being ridiculous dude. You of all people should know this, you have followed this stuff long enough.

I have followed recruiting forever and one thing I know is that, with some kids, it ain't over 'til it's over. I don't have the knowledge about these kids the way you guys down there do, but I'm still nervous about the FSU reports. We had a major meltdown with Antone Smith. Turned out it was over nothing, since he never did much. Still, it was a UM meltdown of epic proportions.
