Thomas and Kirkland visiting January 18th

honestly I'd take Kermit over Coley if you made me pick. Kermit is a leet leet athlete. worst case is that he is a ST nightmare returning kicks. dude is just so smooth. glides across the field

No knock on Kermit...kid can fly...but give me Coley all day, every day.

I think there is a less than fifty percent chance Tim Williams visits in the end, let alone comes here. Just a feeling. I don't take him seriously as a potential future Cane.

I agree with this. Not that I have any inside knowledge, but it's been my gut feeling as well. Notwithstanding the once in a decade exceptions everyone always trots out, I'm leery of a local kid LSU spurns.

Disagree completely, bc they fill different needs. Coley is the big fluid outside receiver; Whitfield fills the slot role w/ exceptional speed.

No way you take Whitfield over Coley. I want them both, but if you can only take 1 it's Coley 100% of the time.

I just dont see the obsession with Coley. what does he excel at?

Are you thinking he is aldaruis Johnson ? Actually you ask a good question.

From Scout:

"Coley has the tools to be a number one receiver on the next level. He is a very fluid wideout with speed, a quick burst off the ball, and great body control. He can be a homerun threat down the field and make a big play in space as a wideout or return man. He is still very thin and he needs to add weight and strength, but that will come in time. He can run more crisp routes as well. In the end, he can be as good as he wants to be. - Chad Simmo"

Personally, I prefer bigger WRs, but there's certainly merit in having superfast slot guys. I like Kermit's speed, but don't like the way he handled his recruitment and question his durability at the next level. I'm no expert though.

Don't take me word for word on this, as I'm relying on the information of others and could be wrong, or mistaking him for somebody else, but as I remember it, Coley isn't particularly fast as far as top-end speed, but has elite acceleration. Is an outstanding route runner with great hands. Not particularly big, but not quite Roscoe/Moss brother small. Best comparison would be Chad Johnson, very similar skill-sets and body types. Guy who plays hard and does all the little things well, even if he isn't quite an elite athlete (although he is **** close, but I'll take a WR who can get open and catch over a 6'4 guy who runs a 4.3 but has questionable hands and route running ability any day of the week).

Somebody please correct anything I said... That happens to be incorrect.

Only question is whether he plays hard all the time. Cam is on record as saying that Coley has plenty of top end speed.

I really don't know. This isn't my info, and I might have **** mixed up, I'm just trying to help the poster who wanted to know out. Some sort of disclaimer is necessary when info may or may not be reliable. Eventually somebody more knowledgeable will come in here and let us know whether or not what I just said is accurate or not, so I figured it can't really hurt anything.

Seems like this is exactly what the deal is.

Coley can be as good as he wants to be. **** there were people that felt he was the best WR in the state LAST year. He has all the tools just seems to be whether he wants to use them or not.

I guess that would explain the hesitation recruiting him on our part in light of the whole attitude/talent discussion we have been having.

The fact that we went this hard after him should show the staff isn't concerned with his effort anymore.

Reuben Foster might be in there too

really dont care about Foster/Liner coming. get their free trippin asses out of the way and focus on Thomas, Collins, KBryant, Kirkland and T.Williams for the weekend

I think Foster is more open than people think and even if he isn't, Al Golden is not to be underestimated

All you need is a chance

Alshermond Golden is like Bazooka Limon. The guy always has a puncher's chance as long as there is time left on the clock. I'd never count that motherfugger out. Saban and the boys better keep their mitts up and keep their chins tucked because Alshermond will be swinging from the heels with 20 seconds left in the 12th round.

I agree with that completely. His recruitment is very odd to say the least, and he seems like a guy who likes to spout nonsense. I doubt that he'll even visit.
