This team is 1999 Canes, not 2000 Canes.

We need more speed on defense both safeties need it bad............ we miss dorsett badly need more more speed all around.......... Wr corp lacks a go to guy. Duke better rest this week we're gonna need him big time............we're fine ROME wasn't built in one night I'm in bumps and bruises till the last man I'm standing with the U!!!
I think we have our go to guy in Coley, still a freshman but is the truth. Just need a QB that can get him the ball properly.

When the season is over no one remembers how we won or lost. ...they remember your record. Ill give this team a ton of credit for finding ways to win every game we played so far. I think the loss of fisch had a huge impact on Morris.....not because he was great but because they were familiar. And also Morris ankle set him back a lot. Great QB play makes a great offense particularly in college football.....we don't have that right now. Great DL play makes great Defense and we dont have that. Every great team we had had those two things. We have some young DL who are gonna come along and some guys coming in. We need to improve our interior DL with some guys who can penetrate and the D will take off. This team is like no other but they are resilient and tough. The style will come with experience after we have guys who have been coached by the same coaches their whole career

We're not there yet... we're improved for sure, but we still lacking in some areas. I think we're 1-2 yrs away from being a dominant Canes team. If you look at FSU the last couple of yrs they've had some talent but this yr that talent is finally matured and playing together. They have a young talented QB. But if you remember just like us people kept saying the Noles are back...well this yr they're finally back! We're not back yet but we're well within reach and can see not only the light but the actual end of the tunnel.

This team is more like 98 to me. I think we're more than a year away.

I think the difference is QB.

If we get elite QB play, we'll be great next year.

IF we get elite QB play, I think that we can be very good, but I still don't think we'll be great. We have a huge question mark at DT, and quite frankly, LB is an area of concern for me as well. If Perryman leaves, fugetaboutit. Playing in the ACC, I think we have a good shot at being a double digit win team next year. Line us up against something like what I'm currently seeing at FSU, though, and I think we'll clearly be a notch below.

As I've said all along, though, I'm looking a bit more down the line like 2015/16. IF Duke and his crew stay to their senior year, and we've got kids like AQM, Burns, Figs, Coley, Grace, Olsen, Griffin (if there's a God) etc from the 2013 class, to go along with this 2014 class (which imo is the class that puts us over the top), then THAT'S when we'll have the chance to be at that elite level. Talent, experience, and young promising prospects as depth.

BTW, speaking about the 14 class, I don't think I can be anymore excited about that class. IF we can add another playmaker or two, this class is the one that gets us over the hump imo. The OL haul, the DL haul, the underrated backers, the playmakers, the kids with nice upside, etc. I didn't even mention that many of them already seem to have the AL Golden like mindset. isht this class is NASTY.

I think it is safe to say, this is not like the teams of the past 4-5 years. Those teams would have gone 2-1 or 1-2 in these past 3 games. Everyone should be excited about this team, but you should temper it with the fact that they are still learning right now. These past few years, and this year especially, the players have been learning to continue to fight through adversity, and we have been witness to the fruits of what they are learning these past 3 weeks. Enjoy the ride, support the team and coaches. We are not elite yet but you can see defined progress in that direction, that we all hope culminates with MNC #6. We as fans need to have some patience though. Most of us have been through this process before ('95-'00), and you can see many of the same attributes that made that process so special in '01. The success that Al is building is foundational, and will be lasting. You can already see that. Enjoy the process everyone... hopefully in 3 years we will all be looking back at these last 3 years as a very special time in Miami Hurricanes football history. GO CANES!!! Beat FSWHO!!

Train on offense is waiting to leave the station, but Steve Morris can't seem to find his luggage...

Reason those teams had losses is because we had Top 5 schedules. This is a watered down schedule that we are still having issues with. We are comparing our team to past teams that were down 30 schollies.I think as long as we go 3-4 we will have problems in this conference because teams will spread us out and have hope.
