This oline class...

Yeah we need less guys like ereck flowers and brandon linder, totally.

LOL. I am not sure what your point is. My point is that when it comes to stars on the OL, there is more to it. Its impossible to evaluate at times. If we can finish out this class with Walker, this is a great class.

Now only you know wtf you are talking about. You are all over the place. And for the record, that OL class that Flowers came in with you would have hated according to your metrix. LOL.

I think you take all of them.

OT- Dumervil
OT- Walker
OT- Washington
OT/OG- Jalen Rivers
OG- Denis
C/OG- Smith

That’s a full OL class with the crown jewel (Dumervil) plus a development OT to have on the roster. With our guard heavy Oline we have on the team currently, it would be a good idea to nab an extra OT to have on the roster and develop when we can. But with the deficiencies we have had lately at the line, if you are able to take this class and add Dumervil, I just think you ride with all of them. That’s first world problems man, oline has been our cryptonite.
Bingo. But Dumervil is just a pipe dream at this point.

God if somehow we landed Dummervil....just wow. I think Denis would be the odd man out at that point when it comes to OL

A program at our current level (trying to get back to the mountaintop) cannot and should not turn away any baller in the trenches. People can call me crazy, but you drop a skill position player before you drop a trench guy when you are trying to get back to an elite level.

Ha. We're not dropping Denis. We're unlikely to get Dumervil anyway, but even if someone else jumps on, we're not dropping a borderline 4 star Guard from South Dade. He'll show out his senior year, possibly solidify himself as a 4 star, and some of the same people would ***** like crazy if he went to UF or FSU.

In the past, this is the type of kid we lose to Auburn or Louisville and then cry about 3 years later when he has our DT encrusted into the goal line. Denis ran a 4.8 shuttle at 279 pounds and almost a legit 6' 3" at the Opening. As a HS Junior. Say whatever you want about our "recruiting juice," but we're at least attacking the kids with the raw attributes to mold into high level contributors.

Listen I agree 100% and I will take all the trench monsters we can take because I do believe LOS is where the game is won and lost.

Im sure Manny will make the numbers work... if we had to drop someone who do you think it would be ?

By the class the staff is done, there will be a few people that might be drop or decommit that us just the nature of recruiting, that being said the numbers will always figure out a way to workout. I do expect this class to be big though around 27. To add to what the dude was saying about dropping skill players for prospects on the LOS, UM is probably not gonna drop anybody but maybe just shut that side of recruitment down. I would not be surprised if they take just 3 WR and 5 DBs overall.

I agree. I was just mainly speaking to the comment itself. In addition, I know this isn't what you meant, but I want to clarify that even if the kid wasn't from South Florida, I'd be saying the same thing. We need to load up on talented kids in the trenches, even if we have to miss out on another position.

Do we need Smith in the class? If numbers get tight and another tackle wants in do we tell him to go? We took a center in the last class(Jakai Clark) and Smith projects as a center as does Seymour in the next class and Corey Gaynor still has 2 more years here. I just don’t think Center is a position of need this class.

Biggest knock on our talent for years has been trenches and QB. Couldn’t address the problems much better right now

Yes!

By the time he gets on campus. Gaynor is a senior. While Clark is on the roster, there's no guarantee he develops as we hope. In fact, the competition may spur his development.

Outside of LT, IMO, center is the most important OL position. It's calls all the line blocking schemes and is central in keeping the line working as a unit. It's always good to have experienced depth at that position.
