He's pretty good eh?

Missed on a lot of plays too and still racked up 450 yards and 2 TD's.

Dude gets a lot of flack and he doesn't even have 10 career starts yet.. i think he has room to improve, but he's not as bad as people make him out to be.

He needs to improve on finding his open receivers earlier and he needs to cut down on the overthrows.

Other than that, I like him a lot.

He also had a couple that could've been pick 6's if the GT defenders were paying attention.

Also had quite a few dropped balls. It goes both ways, but he does have some things to tighten up. He just needs to settle down a bit. It will come with more experience and confidence.

Always room for improvement, but I saw Brady and Flacco make a bunch of bad throws last night. Just sayin'. As do most QBs in every game.

Agreed with the OP.

He missed a LOT of throws, but he also made a LOT of good ones. 400+ yards and a W speaks for itself...

That was one of the most frustrating 400-yard performances I've ever seen, mainly because he left A LOT of plays out there on the field.

To his credit, he stepped up big time and was clutch to finish out the game. But as the season progresses, he can't be airmailing wide open guys on crossing routes, throwing slants in the dirt, missing guys on streaks and post-corners, etc...

Every QB misses throws, but the good ones don't miss the easy ones with that kind of frequency.

Also, I think he needs to get more comfortable stepping up in the pocket.

Overall he's got something to build on, but the accuracy MUST get better.

Kid needs consistency, 1 throw looks like a future NFL QB, the next he's throwing a 1 hopper on an easy slant. If he starts hitting WR's in stride the yards after catch should improve as well. But love the kids moxie and determination down the stretch. He could've easily mailed it in after the missed field goal, but instead drove the offense right down the field for the tying score.

I think it's a confidence thing with Morris. When he feels good about the route, his read on the coverage, and his ability to make the throw--it's normally cash-money, homie.

When he looks a little skittish and doesn't feel 100% confident that the throw is going to be there, his mechanics and decision-making break down.

I think he's got to get some more confidence on his side, and then we'll see him be more consistent. He might still make a few bad throws due to trying to thread the needle here and there, but I'd rather see that than him be inconsistent on the easy stuff because he doesn't trust himself.

Sorry I'm still not a fan. He misses 5-10 yard passes like they are going out of style; he also has a problem setting his feet when he throws which is why he overthrows so many receivers. His decision making is getting better but his accuracy is still not even close to where it needs to be. But its a long season so lets hope he continues to improve.

Other than his 2 beautiful 4th quarter drives, in which he was basically flawless, I was extremely frustrated watching him play saturday. He needs to work on his accuracy. In the Bethune Cookman game I counted about 8 awful passes. In this game he had about 5. He's still young and has room to grow, but if we would have lost this game Morris would not be getting a pass for his play. He's been average at best but I think the potential is there.

It's crazy to think he had over 400 yards of in the air offense after how angry I was so many times. If I see another slant thrown into the dirt or 10' too high I might vomit.

Really though, it's probably all down to experience. This is the first season the team is really his. He was in practice all these years but got just a few games worth of experience before 4 games ago. I hope he can settle into his own and become more consistent. If he can do that, we're in business offensively. We've got weapons in the air and on the ground. If he can't, the criticisms are correct and we're in for another bunch of frustration next year.

Earth the ****** Cane fans, QB's MISS PASSES. THEY ALL DO.

Dude there were a number of passes that our kicker would have come closer to completing and I say that because these were easy pitch and catch routes with open receivers. Morris ended up with great stats and credit for the win but in those stats were our WRs really having to make the play on several occasions. The misses he had could have cost us this game and actually it didn't need to be the close win that it was. If he doesn't improve and soon, we will be pinning a couple of losses on him alone. Thank you Mike James even though you didn't get the credit you deserve.

And there were also some passes he made that only QB's playing on Sundays would have made.
It goes both ways. The net result of Morris's game was the 2nd most yards by a Canes QB since Toretta. Let that sink in for a second.

Whoever is not sold and is all in on Morris can be described as being a blatant ******.

Not to mention he doesn't even have a go to, #1 receiver.

This may actually be a good thing. The last thing he needs is to hone in on one guy and start telegraphing and forcing passes.

The fact that he doesn't have a go to guy should help him trust the plays, make his reads and take what the defense gives him.

Seems to have a knack for the 4th quarter also:

UVA '10 (no win but 19 pts in 4th)
MD '10
GT '12 (two 90 yd 4Q Drives)

Not bad considering only a handful of career starts
