This is more than just a 5 game losing streak

For those that keep thinking this is just a 5 game losing streak, think again. Since a February 3 win vs VT:

Loss by 22 vs UVA
Loss by 3 vs UNC
Loss by 17 vs clemson
Loss by 8 vs BC
Loss by 29 vs duke
Loss by 4 vs GT
Loss by 5 vs UNC
Loss by 10 vs BC
Loss by 8 vs FSU
Loss by 16 vs BC

Thats 10 straight losses to close out last season.

We then beat up on 3 total cupcakes (sub 300 teams) to start this season. Since then, we’ve lost 5 more. We’ve now lost 13 straight to P4 opponents, and managed a loss to sub 300 Charleston Southern to boot. We have gone TEN MONTHS without a win vs a team with a pulse.

This is not just a bad stretch, it’s an absolute collapse. We are in free fall mode. It’s unfathomable that we went from our highest point in program history to this in just ~18 months.
Do you think our athletic dept will invest in the next head coach after L to try to resurrect our men's team?

I respectfully disagree. In this day and age with the portal and NIL, significant roster turnover happens quite frequently. It is not an excuse for poor performance. And while the majority of these guys are new, a lot of the same issues from last year have carried over to this team - atrocious defense, poor rebounding, lack of consistent offensive flow, questionable rotations and lineups, and questionable effort at times from certain players.

Look, I get it. I do. Agree with you on a lot of what you're saying. We're all disappointed in the start to this season, but to attach last year's shortcomings to this group is a bit unfair. Aside from Matt, Nigel and Djobet every other player on our current team was playing for someone else last year. That's more than 70% roster turnover from one year to the next. That's a high turnover rate, with or without the NIL & portal. Most teams are plucking 1-2, maybe 3 spots. We just brought in 7-8 new guys. Unrealistic to expect them to be playing their best ball right now. Again, start to the season sucks, but let's keep things in perspective. The goal is the NCAA tournament. Not non-conference games in November and December.

Sad to see L exit this way, but he’s from a different world. This new world of college athletics doesn’t allow for coaches like L and Tony Bennet to exist. At the end of the day, the kids pay for it. Yes they are making money, no they are not being developed personally or professionally.
