Things have lined up

Oregon’s QB was atrocious. That’s a different game with TVD.

Probably still a loss but the score would be much closer.
That's a different game with the Oregon kids not feeling like their coach is leaving them in a couple weeks. Oregon didn't just forget how to play football all of a sudden. Rumor mill went into full force with Blake's firing and Frenk's $$$ commitment to UM football, all within the last 7 days.

Mario lhas a lot in common with Butch, Mario will stack chips and have us with either the most talented roster in the conference or very close to Clemson. Also he’ll hire a great staff , which ironically is something we haven’t had since we were good. But being like Butch has it’s negatives as well. Mario will have one game a year leaving you scratching your head , like “ wtf was that all about “. We’ll be better coached, more talented and far more physical .

CFB is about talent and who has the most of it. Imo Mario will have us recruiting at a level we haven’t had in a very long time. Staying in the top ten with some higher classes mixed in. That’s what Miami hung its hat on during its run. Most years being more physical , faster and just more talented. Lane doesn’t do that ajd that’s what separates them. Even though I do like Lane, even though I consider him very risky. On and off the field.

So far, it seems like a reasonable discussion about legit concerns about Mario as a head coach. I don't see anyone ****ting on either of them tbh.
Just to be clear when you mention these legit concerns about Mario yet not preface that with lane, THE ONLY ONE OF THE TWO WHO IS AN ESTABLISHED AND HAS BEEN SUCCESSFUL AS A HEAD COACH , well that would be Mario. The one who has won his conference championship (as of this year)3 years in a row. The one who has won a rose bowl and wins his bowl games, who has signature wins, that's all Mario. Lane as a head coach, uhhhh yeah not so much... Also lane, not gonna happen.

4-8 and 7-6 the two years before Mario
Helfrich had a bad year in 2015 at 4-8 after 3 great seasons. The fans and administrators overreacted and hired Willie Taggart that was 7-6 in his one season. Bellotti, Kelly, and Helfrich put Oregon on the map. Don’t be overly infatuated with Mario. Just be aware that didn’t put Oregon on the map.

I get it and don't disagree. But this whole QB thing in Oregon has me at least curious. What happens when TVD (and maybe Garcia) are gone? Are we going to end up in the same boat until he finally finds a guy truly competent to play QB? Herbert was there when he took over and then the last 2 years have been Brown.

TBH, I don't consider Lane a real candidate even though it sounds like he is #2 on the list.....just highly skeptical that he would actually end up here so I'm not giving it much credence and why I'm mostly focusing on Mario.

You’re majoring on the minors here. Oregon fell off and was getting beat down in the PAC-12. They started winning the conference again with Mario
