There's not a team on our schedule we can't beat next season

If our defense wasn't so darn atrocious last season, I would think an undefeated 2013 is in grasps. I still think 2014 is our year with Olsen running thangs.

We have a much better chance winning something with Morris next year than we do in 2014 when Olsen is a freshman. I don't care how good Olsen is or will be. He is probably not going to be better as a freshman than a senior Morris.

****, I want to believe, but I want to know what you guys have seen the last 8 or so years that gives you confidence.

I like your optimism, but unless those defensive numbers above drastically improve we're losing three or four games next year.

What is 116? Total D?

Yep.

How many yards = 1 Point?

While I agree yards are not good, print the scoring D. That is the issue. To the board, I don't understand the obsession with Yards. I understand why it is a bad thing to let them up (TOP, could lead to points) but it is the actual scoring that matters.

Scoring D isn't much better.

Very true. It's a shame Morris doesn't have one more year, otherwise I'd feel pretty good about us making an NC run in 2014.

Baby Jesus will lead us in 2014.

The team around him should be absurdly stacked.

QB Experience is overrated. Kevin Hogan, Marcus Mariota, & Johnny Manziel were all freshman this year.

Darrom Thomas, Golson, McCarron, McElroy, & Newton went to the title game their first year starting.

Our D should be a steel wall reinforced by concrete by 2014.....we just might possibly be able to get away with making a NC run with a good freshman QB, ala Olsen. Most of our receivers will still be here, plus Duke and hopefully Collins back there.....It almost makes me want to strip naked and pour vegetable oil all over myself and run the streets right now....

Oh boy not this again. Fire Golden threads and how do we lose to X we better on paper. We have south Florida 3*s, we should of won. We will lose 1 or 2 games next year. I wish Morris had 2 more years left. 2014 would of been our year. I pray Baby Brady is ready by then.

14-0 MNC. I'm going full on Dannyboy in 2013. We comin' mane.

I actually think 2013 will be the year of the turnaround, which will set us up for something special in 2014.

lmao at the idea that miami has as much talent as UF or FSU

we could have the best offense in the state especially if we can find a second back but seriously what is the talent on the defense that could play for UF and FSU right now? denzel, chick, tyriq, tracy, deon and EJ? and i'm being generous there. that's six out an entire 2-deep of -- theoretically at least -- 24 players. considering the non-conf schedule, a realistic goal is a 3-loss season and an ACC title game appearance.

i mean think just about the defensive line. guys like chick, pierre, porter (if healthy) and maybe mccord could be in the rotation at UF or FSU. not standout players by any means, but rotation players. then think about allllllll the other guys miami plays. corey king would be on the scout team. shayon would get in only in total blowouts. gabe terry and earl moore would've been redshirted the second they got on campus. jalen grimble be on the scout team. kelvin cain would've been told to go play DII somewhere. luther would've been kicked off the team a long time ago.

miami still has a long way to go before being spoken of anywhere near UF and FSU in terms of talent. the fact that it even seems plausible that we could play with them is a total testament to fisch and to some extent the overall player development under golden.

denzel could start for those teams and EJ would be an up and comer. kirby would be just another talented recruit who hasn't shown anything on the field. gaines, armbrister, cornelius, fentress and jawand blue wouldn't even be on scholarship at UF or FSU.

gunter would be scraping the 2 deep... tracy and deon probably never would have played in their first years. same for crawford and rayshawn. rodgers and highsmith wouldn't even be on scholarship. finnie would be kicked off the team.

this is literally the entire defense we have. some of them will get better, but it's still soooo far away from being "good". let alone legitimately great -- like top 5 in the country great -- which is what UF and FSU were this year. that's, like, 3 or 4 years away if we're lucky.

I am not saying it is good but that Total D is red herring. Stick with what matters first POINTS.
