I think some GA'S are with them. No other recruits. Faygan and his dad are in front of Diaz and Banda, intermingled with goofy looking whiten guys.

Yep. This is Miami. You still need to cherry pick big-time national players - especially at DT - each and every year....

We should always have a lot of Florida players, but 60-70% is a better number, in my opinion - I think this is about where it's been historically, too....(during the good history, anyway....)

Nope, always need elite players from out of state. Some of Miami's best players ever and best players on this team are from out of state.... Bama, Clemson, Fsu, Oklahoma, Ohiostate recruit at a national level, they are not only winning big because of south Florida players. Miami must add to our Florida talent base with the elite players from out of state

Great news on C. F-agan, A. Carter, Lat Brini, K. Telfort and my man V. Miller. Would have liked to hear some news on K. Daley and the LB from Sabastian, brother with a spanish name.

For those wining about Diaz stating his focus would be PB, Broward and Dade, please re-read the last 3 words of that write up, "before all else". Nowhere does it state they wouldn't recruit players OOS.

No reason why Miami should not be loaded in the secondary again very soon.

"Stock When Abundant". Bama loads up every year. They don't fear scarring away top talent by signing top talent at every position every year. I'll accept an extra super talent at say DB and for numbers sake say sacrifice signing a solid RB, just to improve the talent level. There will always be classes where you can't fully meet your numbers needs at any given position, but when opportunity presents itself to sign 1 extra talent to any given position when there is a surplus of talent at said position then you have to do it. Now if you forecast that SoFL will always have an ample supply of elite skill guys then maybe you keep position numbers primary.
 
pete back= we back! After last year's miss on Db's looks like the new staff is addressing that position of need with STUDS. Love the staff...

did anyone sign a NLOI today? before we crown panda or anyone as a great recruiter, perhaps we should wait for the full cycle to conclude next winter with actual signings, which is what counts. here's hoping that he and richt and everyone else does well, but i need to see the tangible evidence before, por favor.

this is an easy stance to take. however, now is when relationships are built. richt will be the closer, but now is when players start building relationships and trust in their future position coaches. nothing wrong in appreciating the positive feedback that recruits are giving banda. ****, i never heard 1 **** prospect say anything positive about the previous db coach. let's appreciate the current and worry about NSD when it comes. just my 2 cents

If you mean out-of-state players, these were a few other decent ones:

James Lewis was a decent S from NJ that Butch brought in...

Howard Clark was a top-ranked LB out of NJ, Leon Williams the #2 LB in the country out of Brooklyn Canarsie, Chris Campbell was a solid LB for us out of TX...

These players were all during the Butch era.

Going back 20 years gets us into the 90s - we had some others from TX and LA during that time that were decent, but I don't feel like looking into it...

I agree. He looks like Jordan Jefferson(LSU) on tape. His throwing motion is horrendous.

The QB from Cali is better than Perry. Bad year for QB's in Florida, and Florida isn't a hotbed for QB talent.

I think he ends up at Tennessee

Completely agree. I think it's great to make your main focus the local kids, reclaim the "State of Miami". However, every year there are kids who always leave, kids who don't qualify, kids who have sketchy off field issues or character concerns, etc. You can't limit your focus and take plan B/C kids locally just to prove a point or keep local coaches happy. You must continue to branch out nationally for studs and to spread the U brand.

I also think bringing kids in from different cultural and regional backgrounds can help the culture of the team.

I disagree with this. When you limit your focus and limit your options, you limit the potential of your team.

You wouldn't do this in the business world either. You always recruit top talent acoss the country to grow as a business. Sports is no different.
