The Work coming tonight....will be huge

I wouldn't describe this version of "The Work" as huge

so this Carpenter guy Kaaya's working with is better than our Offensive coordinator/QB coach that Olsen will be working with?

Let's say 20-22 is the number, here is the current list of commitments:

QB:

RB: Dexter Williams

WR: Emonee Spence

OL: Leeward Brown, Kevin Feder and Hayden Mahoney

TE: Bowman Archibald

DE: Scott Patchan

DT: Ryan Fines

LB: Charles Perry

CB:

S:
-------------------------------------------
Assuming we take 11-13 more players (my guess of how the following 11-13 more players breaks down)

1-2 QB
1 RB
2 WR
1 TE
1-2 DT
1 DE
1-2 LB
2 CB
2 S

NCAA has limits on how much Coley and Olsen can work together. No idea if he's better or not, but he can spend a lot more time with him. Olsen's advantage is that he can work with the receivers.

If Olsen wants to solidify the job it would behoove him to work with the receivers this summer.

both QB's will work with the receivers this summer. kaaya will be here in the middle of May. golden wants all the freshman to report for the first summer session.

Nice. Guess we are going to have to wait and see who has a better handle of it all when fall practice comes around.

The front 7 on defense, specifically DT and LB, needs more targets.

Fines and Perry are a nice start but we need more names at DT other than McKenzie. And LB I have no clue other than that cat from Cali.

Who are we going after at DT and LB?

How many DTs are we going to take this season?

We currently have: Moore, King, Pierre, Heurtelou and Hamilton

Enrolling this Summer: Wyche, Jenkins and Moten

The only one leaving is Pierre.

It isn't a numbers thing, we have a 4 deep at a position that you have 2 DTs on the field. It is a talent/developing thing.

My guess is the staff will take another DT out of state. Possibly a second DT if one wants in (Haha).

The issue is quality, not quantity.

If we're being honest with ourselves about half those guys should be excused from a scholarship. I'm with Ridler on this one...we need to bring at least 2 more QUALITY DT's. That would lead to perhaps some of those names being encouraged to transfer...or better yet would light a fire under them to improve and make the decision harder on the coaching staff. Either way it's still our biggest issue on defense.

I said that in bold. We may need more talented guys but we may need to cut some deadweight first.

I hear you...but those 2 things go hand in hand. They'll be more likely to cut the deadweight if they land a couple more studs.

I am down with this but at some point there are too many DTs (or any position)....must cut deadweight.

I have a feeling if our DL Coach was a little better (combined with the DC) that these guys wouldn't be so bad. We will see. I like Wyche a lot.

they must feel really good with mckenzie, jethro is friends with a family member or some crap, but as we seen in the past friends with family doesnt mean **** (lane, TV)
