now if Dorritto is fired and Golden reaches out to Butch to coach the D .. that could work for me!

If it means the braindead retards see it as a full collapse, I'm a fan of every team we play against the rest of the season. Folden must go. Firing his bff should've come two years ago, that ship has sailed.

Let the season play out fellas, I am confident that golden will lose at least 3 more games and will probably find a way to lose a 4th

Tim Irvin won't touch Miami until a new staff is in place. UF isn't as big a favorite as they have been lately though. He's completely open.

Pete- IF Golden is back with a new defensive coordinator, do you see them running a new scheme?

What does the short list of defensive coordinators look like right now?

That assistant's clause doesn't hold that much water. Goldie could simply be told to waive it, or they're both gone. Then do it.

If Ariz is right, then Goldie may be looking to scapegoat his BFF, as he's not happy with the way HIS defense is being run. Of course, the real problem is the defensive scheme itself.

If Goldie really hears his critics, he'd be scrapping his D, firing Dorito, and getting a new D coordinator (like Butch) ---- right. Maintaining the status quo is NOT an option, if he wants even a chance to save his sorry butt.

Major collapse? It's definitely doable and TRENDING!

**The sense I get from talking to a number of people about Golden’s job security is that it would take some sort of major collapse for him to lose the job next season. With a number of tough games left on the schedule, that is not necessarily out of the question, but as of right now my guess is that Golden will be the Head Coach next season with a new defensive coordinator.

That's what I expect. I would make that scenario above 50%, and considerably lower percentages to any other combination, including Golden gone and particularly Golden/D'Onofrio returning intact. I don't care about inside information. Base logic and prior examples are more reliable, IMO. I've seen the jettisoned coordinator so many times when the fan base is restless, like Vince Costello and Tom Olivadotti with the Dolphins, and the USC situation with Monte Kiffin two years ago. Countless other examples. It happens all the time in college football, including during the season. Texas Tech forced out their defensive coordinator already this season, and Mack Brown tried to save his job by firing the Texas defensive coordinator after losing at BYU last year. Paul Johnson got rid of Al Groh in midseason several years ago.

Golden would never let D'Onofrio go before the season ends. Once we reach that point, we'll hear whispers of some other option available to D'Onofrio and he'll be gone. Once the new name shows up, we'll scramble to learn about him and enthusiasm will return, at least until next September, when any loss will be inexcusable.

Peter this scenario you laid out seems most likely:

"The sense I get from talking to a number of people about Golden’s job security is that it would take some sort of major collapse for him to lose the job next season. With a number of tough games left on the schedule, that is not necessarily out of the question, but as of right now my guess is that Golden will be the Head Coach next season with a new defensive coordinator."

I believe 4 losses from this point out would be a calamity and 3 losses might be difficult to accept.

Pete, question..

when did golden figure out that D'Onfrio, Paul Williams and Jethro were not right guys for defensive side of the ball at Miami.. how come it took this long?

When did relationship go sour, because perfect time to fire him would have been after Lousiville bowl loss.. what happened between then and now?

Man, what the ****. If the cloud has anything to do with Golden getting another year, with or without a new D coordinator, that is totally ****ed. The guy got an extension till 2187, has put out a garbage *** product on the field going on 4 years now, and was able to keep his BFF on staff this year after consistently fielding one of the weakest defenses I have ever seen in my life. We are even, ************. GTFO.
