People seem to forget how elite our class really is. You all **** and moan about how many elite kids got away, well look at how many elite kids we GOT.

Yearby, F5 Chad, Owens, Young, Hester, Kaaya, Berrios, K.C, and Darling are all ELITE TALENT.

missed on our biggest need tho

Young, hester, and berrios are good but not elite. They might be great one day but as of right now not elite.

Lsu targets usually 1 or 2 kids a year to snag down here. By any means necessary! Bowe, Highsmith, Peterson, Johnson, Robinson, Battle. TV is on deck. LSU struck out on local talent at DT. Head to head we can't compete with LSU.. Plain and simple.

Don't set youref up for a meltdown. He ain't comin boys. History should of taught you.

1. First and formost- under AG we have never regained a commitment from someone who decommited. (Kearse, Collins, Southward, Keef, Kerr, Whitfield, Rudolph, LB from 1st coast, Patten)

2: head to head it's a mismatch. From a $$ standpoint - on the field performance - facilities. And don't use the "well we got burns and Carter" excuse. Carter has a young son and that kept him home. Burns had guys at NW in his ear constantly about UM. We at a disadvantage from the jump.

Hester doesn't get the cred he deserves. Top S in the northeast and plays for a great school. When he played top schools such as BC and DBP he dominated on both sides.

If he played at STA kid would be recruited by the entire southeast. Kid is elite. 6ft 205lb safety with speed skills and lumber

Sorry I am a little confused. DT is probably the hardest position for a freshman to come in and have success from day one. Do you really expect TV to come in and have success for us this season?

We have 4 DTs committed, 2 of which are JUCOs and 2 are seniors. We hit the need and we brought in 1 more than we had last year. In addition, we have potential to add another DT.

The problem has not been numbers at DT because since Golden has got here because he has brought in 7 DTs in that time (Pierre, King, D. Smith, Briscoe, Moore, Ivery and Renfrow). The problem is his ability to develop and get something out of these kids. No one on that list (besides Pierre at times) has been developed and/or amounted to much.

We hit our need for DTs and that is without TV, it is time for Golden to make something out of these kids. I am not saying that we couldn't use TV, I am just saying from a numbers POV we hit our need.

Yes, sub-par. We're going to end up with a class ranked outside the top 10 in a year where SoFla is producing one of the most talented local crops in recent memory. In this scenario, it's a sin to miss out on all of these top local kids and end up outside the top 10. Inexcusable. Whether recruits are being paid or not, whether these kids just want to leave, it doesn't make a difference -- he's been hired to produce results, and to do that, he needs to be highly successful in hauling in the top local talent. Otherwise, we really have no shot at ever being elite again. And right now, he's proven to be mediocre when it comes to that. We're going to puke when all of these local studs become all-conference players at FSU, LSU, etc, and are high drafts picks.

Golden is the worst. Dude cannot coach a lick, and it turns out he's a sub-par recruiter. Beyond cute binders and snazzy press conferences, what exactly does this guy do well?

Sub-par? No.

Elite, or even very good? No.

He's an average to above-average recruiter, you're crazy to think he's either elite or sub-par. Don't hate just to hate, use your brain, use facts.

Here's the thing with Golden...I believe he would be an elite recruiter at a school such as Penn St, Rutgers or anywhere in the northeast. South Florida recruiting is a completely different animal that no one has seemed to figure out for us lately. Golden didn't know the landscape when he arrived and I think after a couple of years he realized all the crap that goes on down here and tried to slink away to PSU. Its all politics, dirty games and massaging large egos of the players themselves and the leeches that have latched on to them. We need someone that is willing to get down and dirty that is willing to play those games. Unfortunately for us, I don't believe UM will ever hire someone like that and we are always going to lose a chunk of elite SoFla players because of the ever worsening landscape down here. We will always get a few guys to stay home because there are always guys that just want to be home. I just dont know if we will be able to keep enough home to be an elite force in college football again.

valid points but i am not giving up on TV yet. unlike cook he has been committed here and still has had a lot of contact with us. i am not the overly optimistic type but i still feel good about our chances with TV.

I actually believe Valentine is one of the few DTs that could come in and play well as a FR. I think he is that good. At this point our NT spot would be Wyche, Moore, Jenkins. YIKES!

Like I said, Golden needs to bring in TV by any means necessary.

**Yes, Chad Thomas will be at FSU this weekend. Anytime a 5-star commit visits the reigning national champs, there is a valid reason for concern, but Thomas continues to tell me he is solid to Miami, despite his visit plans. I will refer you to a quote he gave me a little over a month ago - “Nah, nah, nah. I’ll never change. I committed to Miami so that’s what I’m gonna do. I’m loyal. I might take another visit just to see other things because I’ve been in Miami for 18 years, but you know I’m locked in with Miami.”

**It is known by now that Tavon Ross will be on campus today and throughout the weekend. Miami feels that getting on him before both Georgia and Alabama has given them the upper-hand here and this weekend could go a long way to landing him.

**What I reported a few weeks ago on the junior college defensive tackles still looks to be the case (http://www.canesinsight.com/threads/61582-HUGE-news-on-the-JUCO-DT-front?highlight=JUCO+DT). Heurtelou is expected to be enrolled today or tomorrow and Wyche is still not expected to be here for Spring. Look for Wyche to stay at JUCO this semester and be here in May.

**My feeling right now on Travonte Valentine is that he will be LSU bound. LSU coaches are very confident that he will be theirs on NSD.
**I expect Miami to be a legitimate player for Lamont Gaillard down the stretch. If he follows through on his visit next weekend, things could get interesting. Miami is on him HARD.

It's misses like this that will prevent us from being elite again

Yup, seen that song and dance before. TV to LSU and then Gilliard will visit, get our hopes up only to stay with UGA. We are left **** in hand looking for the next Darius Smith.

Genron...

I'm sick of this motherf***er. Let's run a CIS fundraiser to have a PI chase his *** around all day and let's catch him red handed and let the IRS deal with this fool.

He'll get his one day. I'll tell ya tho-- if he was taking advantage of any players of mine, let's just say things would get physical. They claim they are helping kids get positive exposure but in reality they use these kids like cash cows. Selling them to the highest bidder for there own benefit. It's sad man. The kids have no clue and see no harm, but they are essentially be used like human trafficking... Ok maybe that was too much, but you get the point.
