The transition class of 2022

It's numbers and percentages.
We've signed (5) 5*.
Let's see what Samson does so we'll call it 1 out of 4 with Francis doing good things.

We signed (64) 3* in that span.
Have we had (16) 3-stars who we've had success with in 7 years?
Probably so, but It depends on the definition of success.
Absolutely. Way too early to comment on Samson. I was just pointing out the number of 5 stars we signed since 2018.

I thought he was a very high 4* right on the verge of being a 5*. Kind of like Brevin Jordan and a few others. I did forget the class of 2024. Justin Scott, Marquise Lightfoot, and Armondo Blount were 5* from that class. Obviously, way too early to comment on them.
Lightfoot was a 5 star if he stayed with OSU. that 4 star was a joke but he came here so you guys know the deal. Same with Stubbs this cycle. People forget too some rankings had Jordan lyles as the top rb in the country last year. Its sucks we lose Jeremiah but we have flipped Scott, Lightfoot, Fletcher, and Lyles all from OSU the past two years.

colbie and kelly tried to shake us down for NIL money instead of focusing on improving. Colbie is an NFL WR but I hope he improves off field mentality with UGA.

Cooper was all Mario, I don’t think McCoy was committed to Manny but we were recruiting him with Manny I believe..Horton was committed to Manny also

total brain fart - you're right. I recall Coop saying that Mario was actually on Coop while he was still at oregon.

edit: As for McCoy, Justice actually recruited him.

Lightfoot ended up a composite 5 star

I am a member of a different kind of transition class - @HurricanePhilly

Many of us wanted Cooper at DT. I honestly think he would have been a stud at either position.

The light has come on for Harris. WOW! Pleasant surprise.

Horton looks like he’s going to only get better.
Mario was recruiting Cooper as a DT and it was Cooper who told him he wanted to play OL at his in home visit

Lightfoot was never with OSU and he committed to us on 7/3/23. He didn’t rise to a 5 star until the final rankings on 1/29/24 half a year after he had been committed to us.

Compare Mario’s transition class to Mannys—Harvey JHH Zion Couch and Headley were the only contributors in a much bigger class

Cooper is the guy from that class. It seemed like whenever he took that starting job, the O line began to come together. He was as locked in as anybody from pregame until the final whistle.

And we saw how that turned out for FSU. I hated losing Kelly. But while he flashed, him and Achaeompong hadn't proven anything yet. Glad we didn't cave. Saturday showed that character is as important as talent.

Pretty sure Horton was a Diaz recruit.

For the guys Mario added, the lower eval guys (Cooper, Harris, McCoy) have severely outperformed the top guys like Moss, Skinner, Kelly, etc.

Horton wearing the black cleats, low socks, towel tucked in back, and tucked up jersey looks like Horace Copland
he looks great out there. imo he projects as the best NFL prospect of the top 4 WRs. he does not move like he is 6' 3"/6' 4" ... guys that height typically do not move with the smoothness and coordination he was showing vs UF
